Considering the intelligence level of most Republicans I know I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to write in George W. for a third term.

It's ok redeemed, most of us around here are smart enough not to make such broad generalizations. It amazes me on a daily basis how college can actually make some people dumber.

When you're in student groups and government you can't pick who else gets involved.

The Republican party is putting a ton of money into a co-worker of mine and he is biggoted, closed minded, and unable to defend any of his opinions... it gives me a pretty low opinion of the party.

I see how you can make the assumption. However, wouldn't you say that the many "misunderstandings" you've had with several people on this board (not me, of course) could also give "republicans" on this site similar assumptions about "Liberals"? Do you think that's fair to make sweeping generalizations about an entire party based on one's opinions about a certain individual? Just wondering.

It has absolutely nothing to do with age. A person of any age can attend college. It's about your belief that YOU are better then everyone else and you bring it up again and again, it's getting old.

I let this boil down to bickering, Redeemed is right about that, and I apologize.

Also, how did I make broad generalizations, I said most, not all and of that I was talking about ones I know (an incredibly small percentage living in an extremely liberal community). That's not broad at all. I am friends with quite a few Republicans, and we respect our rights to our opinions... but the fact remains I know some dumb, narrow minded ones too.

I also know some pig headed, narrow minded, and stubborn Democrats too! What do you know about that?

SF55, you're defending yourself, and I've got no problems with you defending yourself, but you're missing Niki's point.

She's not saying that some people are "dumb[er]" because they disagree with her. She's saying that some people are "dumb[er]" given the way that they express their disagreement.

So which is it? Is it most of the ones that you know, or is it some of the ones that you know given that you live in a small, extremely liberal community and know an incredibly small number of Republicans to begin with. The original post simply read that 'most of the ones that [you] know' share such and such qualities.

Also, I have never, ever said I was better than anyone else because I am attending college. I am thankful for the opportunities I have been given, but that doesn't mean I am gloating, or saying how much better I am over everyone.

You may not be saying those exact words, but it's coming across loud and clear in many of your posts. For many of your opinions you act as if it is ridiculous to believe anything contrary to what you are stating. This is the kind of thing that causes others to see you as arrogant; it isn't simply that you are disagreeing with them.
