Don't know much about Wright, I do like Evans. Anyone ever see Wright play? He's a big CB, with 8 years experience...but -- where is Northwestern State??

2006 Scouting Report Scouts Inc.

Image
Full Name: Kenny Wright
Born: September 14, 1977
Ruston, LA
Height: 6-1
Weight: 207 lbs. Age: 28
Pos: CB
Experience: 7 years
College: Northwestern State

TACK 64.0 | FF 0 | INT 2
Grade: 65

Comment:
He is a physical player and is at his best as a press corner. Has the upper body strength to out-muscle and re-route receivers yet has the straight line speed to stay with most receivers down the sideline. Has the size and speed to be an effective blitzer off the edge. He is a good kicking game player on cover teams, will throw his body around and plays with reckless abandon. He does not have great awareness and will bite on play action as well as pump fakes at times and will give up some big plays. As much as you like his aggressiveness, he does not always play under control and will miss some tackles.

He's not a bad 3rd, I wouldn't put him in man-coverage on the regular bases though. Hits hard pretty good tackler

Gotta trust that Wms will put him in situations that are good for him - and good for the defense.

I do like his size.

He would be a better fit than Fletcher. 6-1 207, good blitzer, physical, good speed.... sounds just like a G.Williams DB.

Lets see him play before you go that far.

Hey, I'm just glad that we are getting guys. As happy as I am about this offseason and our pickups we absolutely have to have some more depth at the CB position....

North Western State is in Louisiana.
Here more on Wright. Sounds like a good tackler and good fit with Gregs scheme. Don't put him in one-on-one situations though.

He's solid if not left in man coverage for too long, also plays safety and special teams

I'm going to get slapped around a little for this, but Evans is my favorite signing this year.

I hope not. I've had enough with the Taylor felony trial, I don't want Carter to go through one also...

I mean...mauling children? What kind of low-life is he?

Fletcher Will Not Visit Redskins

Fletcher Will Not Visit Redskins
Monday, April 3, 2006; Page E05

Free agent cornerback Jamar Fletcher has canceled today's scheduled visit to Redskins Park, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, and does not anticipate future negotiations with the club. Fletcher will visit other clubs this week instead, according to the source, who said the Redskins were close to signing another free agent cornerback.

Redskins Vice President of Football Operations Vinny Cerrato declined to comment when contacted last night. Fletcher spent last season with San Diego, and the Redskins have been in regular contact with his agent since last month. Washington has been seeking a nickel cornerback in free agency and brought in veteran Kenny Wright for a visit last month.

Wright was drafted in the fourth round by Minnesota in 1999 and spent three seasons with the Vikings and three with Houston before joining Jacksonville in 2005. He has three sacks and six interceptions in 100 regular season games.

-- Jason La Canfora

Looks like we are signing Wright.
Don't know much about him, but from what I've heard, it soulds like he will fit GW's system well.
