Your "OTHER" team
Hey, I'm not sure if this has ever been asked before on this site, but I'd like to know, what other NFL team do you root for? Is it an NFC team or AFC team?
I'm not looking for answers like "there is no other team but the Redskins" or "Any team that plays Dallas". Those answers are played out, in my opinion. I already know your first love (the Skins). Now, tell me what other team tickles your fancy...
As for me, for a while, it's been the Chargers. When Marty was here, he really impressed me with the way he turned this team around. Since his "departure", I've rooted for him to do well in San Diego. LT, Brees, and Gates made a nice combination, but I'm afraid they will go into another rebuilding phase now that Rivers is at the helm.
What about you?

I root for the Patriots.
I know, I feel a little guilty rooting for a team to do so well when I never cared too much about them one way or another but it's my New England roots.
I'm not trying to jump on the bandwagon but it's the team my mom's side of the family loves... and it's also fun to see how no matter how well the Patriots do, they are nothing compared to the Red Sox. lol

I rooted for the Raiders when Gannon was there because he's a former Blue Hen from the U. of D. Now, since there are so many Steeler fans in the bar I frequent, I guess I'd have to say I root for the Steelers.

If it wasn't for the Redskins, I would not follow NFL football. I would only watch individual games every now and then. The day the Skins have been out of the playoffs in the past, football is OVER for me that year.
I hate most of your second choices anyway.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

There's a team here in Jacksonville and I'll go to a game or two each year. But I can't say I root for them. I only follow the Skins and no other team really matters.

Sorry Redeem, I tried...I thought of every team and I have a different reason for why I hate each of them.
I'm having trouble understanding the "boo-urns" joke. Someone please explain; there just aren't enough "-iddly doodlys" in it for me to understand.

But, for those of you struggling to think about teams you root for....close your eyes and think back to the lean years in Washington, when we were forced to watch others playing football in the postseason. Now, I know many of you shut off football once the Skins season ends, and that is quite admirable, but, for those who don't, I ask who did you root for (or pay attention to) while the Skins were irrelevant in the playoffs.
It's okay, no one will hold it against you...

I'm like CLL in that I really do not have another team and generally root for the underdog. I guess I know a lot of teams that I never want good things to happen to and some players.
If I had to take a team it would probably be the 49ers because I liked how they always seemed to beat the pukes and the giants. The game that the refs blew for the giants, and on the final play, no less, after coming back, TWICE! - Now that was pure! - to watch a team lose and have their season end....... priceless

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

During the lean years, I also rooted for teams Kurt Warner played for. I was glad to see him win a Super Bowl. I think he was done dirty in NY, and now has a legit opportunity to make a comeback in Arizona, with the addition of Edge James.
Thanks to all who have replied.
Redskinsgush, I have a friend who's from Cleveland, but grew up in Washington. His first allegiance is to the Skins, but he also loves "The Dawg Pound".

I can't really root for any other teams...but everyonce in a while I try to make myself find another team to root for...don't know why. I tried rooting for the Saints, the Vikings, the Cheifs, I respect the Colts, I tried rooting for the Chargers when Marty left, etc. But I can't really get into any other team. However I have recently started to root for the Steelers.Since the Steelers played the Cowgirls in the Superbowl They've been a team I've kept coming back to. There no Skin's, but I do dig them. Its in part because of the old 70's teams, the fact theat I dig their style of game and their front office...its in part because Russ Grimm is a coach for them...but mostly its to piss off my relatives who are Ravens fans!
