Breaking from their recent history of employing young placement specialists who worked for minimum wages, the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday signed unrestricted free agent kicker Mike Vanderjagt, a colorful eight-year veteran who is the NFL's career leader in field goal percentage.
I thought they might get him - this guy will make a lot of kicks for them
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I think that this guy's not going to be anywhere near the problem that Owens is. This guy is one of the best kickers in the NFL right now and there is no reason to believe he will be anything less this year - a really good pickup for the pukes. The media may try to hype it differently but this guy will score a lot of points before he's finished and he will not be a distraction.
Owens is a whole different story.

TO is possibly the best wideout in the league (attitude aside) and will have opertunities to put up points also. They have both been distraction for thier former teams. Vanderjack normally in the off-season, TO right in the middle of a playoff race is his prefered time to act up. So you could have year round turmoil or two jerks who will cancel each other out, and get everyone else focused.
Bottom line this was a signing I saw coming but could have done without.

remember Parcells has a history of taking problem childs and turning them into gems.
Terry, Keyshaun, LT, Byran Cox, there tons of problems that have played for Parcells and turned out fine. I wouldn't just rule a man with Parcells history out just yet.
I'm one of the few Skins fans that think TO will be a great team player on and off the field this time around, he will help the Cowboys a bunch, I hope I'm wrong but I think so. That said, I still think the Skins are a way more superior team in alomost all positions, including coaching.

Remember Parcells has a very favorable record against Gibbs.

I'm not sure I'd call any of those players 'gems' (LT, of course, excluded). I would agree that they behaved better for Parcells than their respective reputations would suggest, but I can't say I've seen them (LT, of course, excluded) hoising any Lombardis.
