Would you do 4 1/2 years in prison to watch the Super Bowl
The brother of Pittsburgh Steelers safety Tyrone Carter got sentenced to 4 1/2 additional years in prison, for a DRIVING OFFENSE, for watching his brother play in the Super Bowl.
More on that story HERE
Damn, if that guy got 5 years for driving, I wonder how much someone can get for shooting a gun at someone in Florida?
Sean Taylor better be worried now!

The thing is can it be proven? With the steeler and the guy from the Bengals there is NO DOUBT they did it but with Sean its a bunch of hearsay (sp).

Yeah, I know. My comment was more tongue-in-cheek than anything.

Can you explain to me exactly what tongue-in-cheek means? Of course I understand its definition by its place in the sentence but I've never understood exactly what the tongue and cheek do...

Umm, correct me if I'm worng, but it doesn't seem like his time was extended solely because he drove on a revoked license. He totally " Failed to report to jail on time". Isn't that equivalent to eluding the police, resisting arrest, etc.?

Not really. It's almost like the offense of "Escape After Conviction". I know, first hand, that Courts DO NOT LIKE IT when they cut someone a break - by giving them a later "report date" for prison instead of sending them there immediately - and the person then fails to show up as ordered.
4 1/2 years is a little excessive for a driving during suspension charge, in my book, however.

He got six months for the driving during suspension charge AND a break on when he had to start doing his time, if he had showed that would have been it but like you said, "Courts DO NOT LIKE IT" and the Judge ADDED 4 and half to the sentence becuase he was a No-Show on his reporting date.
I'm willing to bet anyone given a future reporting date in that courtroom that day will report as ordered if not early.
