L. Coles on OPRAH

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

L. Coles was on Oprah today talking about how he was sexually abused when he was young. See Oprah.com for details.

My mom has been watching it since it started and she just called me in because she thought she had heard of him before. I only saw like the last few seconds of the interview, and man he has like a chicken voice!

I can't even explain what it sounded like. I expected it to be tough or something, but it was really high.

I'm just glad he kept that stuff to himself while he was with us.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

I applaud him for doing this. If he helps one child who has been through this tragedy than he's worlds above the average athlete in my book, Redskin or not!

And it makes me forget that he almost ran me over after the Vikings game last year. lol
Whenever I start to get blue, I just breathe!

My favortie line from the Simpsons:

Flanders: "Looks like someone is having a pre-rapture party!"

Homer: "No Flanders, it's a meeting of gay witches for abortion , you wouldn't be interested!"

I think what Coles did was a tough move for him. I can't imagine the toll it took on his psyche while he was living the life of a glamorous NFL star. He must have felt dirty, or ashamed when really it wasn't his fault. Like NikiH I applaud him for coming out and saying what he said, and may god help any other kids that may have to go through that in their life and their abusers be brought to justice. A little more than you thought from a sixteen year old eh'? ;)

Wow....You guys are brutal. How the hell can you mock someone who was molested as a kid because he's not on your football team anymore?

That makes me sick. how would you like it if you or your child was molested and I came in here and mocked you for it?

Come on Smizz.
There were a few posters that made fun of him, but most didn't.
And the ones that did are more than likely pretty young(Not defending what they said, but what do you expect on a Skins board?).

I still do and always will hate Coles for what he did to our team, but kudos to him for talking about the abuse he went thru. Hope it helps some kids somewhere. To see a rough and tough NFL player talking about being abused and still having nightmares about it has got to help kids around the country...
