Man, I am 6'2'' 240 pounds, that trainer could probably make me into an NFL MLB!

If only I had Archuleta's dedication.

Adam is now making $5mill a year from us? Please correct me if Im wrong.

My question is, how is Sean Taylor going to take that? Not too long ago he was pissed because he wasn't making the money he thinks he should. Well he make a stink over this?

he may make a "stink" but it won't be until after this year and with the salary cap going up another 7 million, maybe then the skins will renegotiate with him. If he has another great year, he'll have legit case to make an arguement.

I would hope Archuleta has some incentives built in... but either way, I think he will be a beast.

Considering the quotes on this thread from Rams' fans, I doubt he will be a "beast". I've seen him play and what I've seen, I've liked. When I saw him, however, it was a while ago...perhaps before the back problems.

I hope he plays to his full potential (like he played "back in the day") and gives our secondary a boost.

I'm a Red Sox fan, and on other boards when we get a new player the fans of that other team often talk that player down.

I think that the Redskins FO did their homework, I don't think they'd sign a guy who's in such sorry physical shape.

I'm no Rams fan, I'm a life-long 'Skins fan who just happens to be stationed outside St Louis... I'm keeping my fingers crossed but he looked really silly several times the last couple years here... look at the way Portis and Cartwright ran around and over him this past season...

Based on the way he was talking about the last few seasons in St. Louis, it may just be that he got tired of being the only guy making plays on the defense. He sounded like a guy who's main focus in free agency was to find a team with a good defense, good schemes for safeties and good players and coaches around him.

IMHO, any perceived problems from the past few seasons may have as much to do with playing for a team that didn't give a rat's fart about defense.

So starts the rebirth of Adam Archuleta.

My wife is from St. Louis, so I have had the "pleasure" of watching the Rams quite a bit. I have seen him get trucked one a few occasions, but I have also seen him play like a beast, so I to am keeping my fingers crossed about the guy.
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

Man, I was just looking at some old Photo's from Redskins.com from Week 1 2004 against Tampa, and remember how good of a game Bowen had with all his blitzes...

Well now that just made me think, that's exactly what Archuleta is going to do. Take that Matt Bowen role, except Archuleta is a much better athlete than Bowen.

Man, I'm pumped!

I may be wrong, but I thought Archuleta was out for that game. When they signed Archuleta, I thought Gibbs said that they were glad he was out of the lineup that day.

I think it is human nature to bash someone as soon as they leave your team. I've seen a good number of people on this board say that Ryan Clark had to be resigned. Then, when he wasn't, they would say "he wasn't that good anyways" or something along those lines. I guess what I"m trying to say is that I hope that Gibbs and co. prove yet again what unbelievable talent evaluators they are.

Yeah, what VT said, I don't think Archuleta played that game...

But even if Archuleta looked shaky at times in St. Louis, I think he is the perfect fit for GW's aggressive blitzing scheme.

Dont forget about how "bad" S. Moss was in NY. Different schemes fit different players. He may excel in this scheme which is what we're all hoping for. Some players just aren't going to be good anywhere they go <cough>cructhes<cough>.

Archuleta wasn't on the field for that game against the Skins last year! Two weeks before, in Arizona, he suffered a concussion. He was inactive along with Bruce and Bulger.

Archuleta is finally in the perfect system for his playmaking ability. G.W wil turn Taylor and A.A loose from all directions. Will be fun to watch......

The Rams have always had a suckie defense, with the exception of the few years Lovie Smith was there. Their safeties were often out of position (because they had to be) and other teams exposed this weakness. G.W's defenses are built to confuse and disorient the offense. Archuleta,Taylor and Company, will have a field day....Look for the Skins to lead the league in takeaways.............Mark it Down!
The weaker are always anxious for justice and equality. The strong pay no heed to either.

you guys are right... I was even at that game and would've swore he played, but he didn't come back until the next week... either way neither he nor the Rams defense played very well the last couple years. I'm hoping the 'Skins system exploits his strengths, like everyone else...

If he didn't fit Williams style, he wouldn't be here.

Another thing I think is great about Archuleta is that he reviewed game tape and talked in depth with GW about the system and his defensive philosophy before signing. I think we will see Archuleta play unbelievable football and will help ST make ours the most fearsome defensive backfield in the NFL.

As I recall, he started his college career as a walkon & ended as a 1st round pick. You don't do that without working incredibly hard on & off the field.
