Now what possible metric is there to say that ARE is the better reciever? There aren't any left!
Is ARE a more valuable player? Maybe he's a special teams superstar, but we paid ARE big bucks, he's going to be a reciever, and he's not as good, at that position, as Gardner is.
ARE lacks a true position, and while a guy like that can be valuable to a team if used correctly, he's not usually the kind you spend a lot of money on...
ARE plays professional football in the NFL

I'd like to know what percentage of balls gardner had thrown to him got caught. I bet ARE's number is at least 30% higher than Roddy's. THAT is what makes ARE far and above better than Gardner. Not even taking his return and throwing skills into consideration. ARE will catch more balls here in washington than he did in Pitt because he'll get a lot more chances.
50/50 was and is a joke as an NFL receiver, and it's ludicrous to say that ARE is inferior to him...

You are out of your mind, and out of your league.
Ever heard of trends? Like how Gardner's reception numbers have fallen for four consecutive years, and how Randle El's yards per catch has risen for three consecutive years? Now what kind of production do you think we should expect from these two men in 2006?
The fact that Randle El could have fetched a huge contract from a team other than the Redskins should tell you that he is considered much more valuable by the NFL marker that Rod Gardner, who has been dumped by three teams in less than a year.

Are u serious with your posts? You've gotta be kidding me with comparisons of ARE and 50/50 Gardner! Nobody is saying ARE is the difference between us and the super bowl but for gods sake could you please take a lithium and chillax a little bit on your doomsday outlooks.
Everybody said we would be in cap hell this year and look at the moves we are pulling off! Im so proud to be a redskin, and darn proud to call ARE, Archaleta, Lloyd, Carter, Faruria all Redskins. All of my friends are cowboy and eagles fans and they are all peeing on themselves because no one imagined the skins would be able to pull off what we are doing.

It's one or the other - Gibbs doesn't understand the free agency era or the game has passed him by.
Gibbs is too soft to coach today's players because he doesn't scream, yell, throw chairs, or break walls. Second, Gibbs is too harsh for today's players because he is too stern and demanding.
WOW....WOW....WOW....You people are spinning out of control. I don't recall Tailor making a splash like he was supposed to...and Thrash was hardly better. Although a great return man we used other people for that duty. Patton as much as I am trying to like him fell down and got a boo boo which limited our offensive production. Now if...if Patton comes back strong and we have Lloyd and ARE then I'm positive Tailor Jacobs will be gone. They are tired of waiting for him do explode. and Thrash will probubly be Special Teams and 4th WR slot.
Well you see I'm so ill informed because I can't afford to go to the games.....I'm relagated to sitting on my couch and seeing it up close and watching any replays they may have and commercials.lol.SORRY.
What, exactly, is your point? Randle El isn't Moss, so he isn't worth the money? Randle El had 35 catches last year. Sounds like a good number two. Patten only had 22. Thrash had 14. Sounds like an upgrade.[/quote]
lol, good point. anything is better than 22 and 14 catches... I do think that Randel el was a bit overhyped especially if you look at the numbers. but he did definatly play on a run first team as a 2nd or 3rd option. If the skins feel he can help and they can afford him... then im cool with it. If it were 4 years ago id be worried, but i dont think Gibbs is going to do anything completly stupid. I mean hes not God and can make mistakes obviously, but i know with him hes put thought into it and not just signed someone for the sake of signing someone to make headlines...
Worth what money??? The only money guaranteed is 11.5 mil signing bonus which is pro-rated over 7 years (unless we release him before then)... Do the math, that is less than 2 mil per year. If he is worth the backloaded salary by yeaR 3 OR 4 THEN HE STAYS. If not, he will be asked to restructure or be released. We do this over and over and have proved it works. I thought you guys were smarter than the average idiot Pasquarelli reporter ou there!!!

Oh i hear ya... I just meant overhyped numbers as in yards, Td,s etc, not like an overblown contract. It just seemed his Superbowl performance kinda made people inflate his value? But trust me , im definaly not worried about the cap and im glad to have him no doubt.
