Thanks. It's funny even our own fans can't figure it out how we are doing it. However a news source mentioned that the CAP last year was 84m. and prior to the new deal it jumped to roughly 95m for all teams to be down to. we were 19m over. We restructered contracts and made it below then the agreement was signed and it shot up to what....102, 104m? We not only got down but the agreement helped us plus the restructuring of contracts helped. If we trade Ramsey to the Jets in trade for Abrahams then we will probubly not have lost to much cause Ramsey was paid well and we will in essance be trading one contract for another. Money for draftees comes from a seperate pool.

Ramsey is in his last year of his contract and moving him would free up cap space. More importantly John would give the D a whole new look in addition to who we've added today

When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hold on....
The Washington Post reports Washington Redskins LB Marcus Washington agreed to convert $3.4 million in roster bonuses and base salary into a signing bonus, which is then prorated to save the team $2.5 million in cap space this year, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

You want to know how we do it? easy! Pro athletes are, and have been competetors their whole lives and when they are FA they want two thing, money and a ring. They realize that by comming to the Skins they can accomplish both. So if your a top FA and you can fill a void with us or another team, it's a no-brainer.

The large signing bonuses and the 6 yr deals are what bring them in. Randel El just won a super bowl...he didn't come to the redskins for a shot to win a ring. He came to the skins because they gave him a boatload of cash. I got no problem with it. God bless him.
Dan Snyder is willing to pay these guys what they want to get them in Washington. Can't blame the guy but you have to beware of Free agnets who say "I wanna ring" but they really mean " I like the cash ". Those are the guys who hurt the team. We call them Check cashers.
It's very hard to add 5 ,6 or 7 top free agents without worry someone is just a check casher looking for a big payday.
You never really know what you get till it's on the field.Im just saying when you throw big money out there, you never know what kind of players you are going to attract.
ARE sounding like he was really impressed with the way the Skins tried to sign him.
He Got a call from Gibbs at 12:05AM.(was first to call him)
Gibbs also asked to speak with his wife.
ARE sat down with Saunders and talked about how he fit in.
I'm not saying the contract wasn't a factor, but I think the small things that the Washington FO and coaching staff does helps us bring in FA's.
I would like to know what the Bears tried to do. It also doesn't hurt that Danny is a billionare.
the Redskins have reworked several existing contracts in recent days, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, to create enough room for these signings under the $102 million salary cap.
Where there is a will, there is a way and the Skins have found their way!

dude... don't kid yourself... it is the money...
8 million signing bonus with Chicago... and 11.5 million with Wash... Money talks bro
See right now I'm on lettuce... Pretty soon I'll be on fries... After that.. The grill... And after that... Comes Assistant. Manager.... and That's When the Big Bucks roll in!
I notice alot of other NFL fans ripping the Skins with the "You can't buy a super bowl" line. Which may be true, but I think it totally misses the point.
Whether the skins go to the super bowl or not, every off season Dan Snyder is out there making moves like these. Its exciting and this is an exciting team. If the skins do well, the fans are happy and talking about the skins. if they blow up in a spectacular train wreck, the fans are crazy and talking about the skins. Either way, its an exciting team and Snyder is making money hand over fist.
Dan Snyder rocks. Other teams can do it however they want. This is how the Redskins do it.

Joe Gibbs called Randle El at 12:05? Did Joe even know there was two 12 O'clock's?
