Do you at least have a source?
I think Archuleta is a bit overrated, and will surely be overpaid. I thought Clark did a pretty good job (and I hope we still retain him, although it doesn't look good). That being said, Gregg Williams is going to love Archuleta's ability to blitz. We all know how he likes to blitz players from every position, and Archuleta is one of the best pass-rushing safties in the league.
The Washington Redskins added safety Adam Archuleta to their free agency haul Monday, the team's fourth acquisition in three days.
Archuleta, who had played five years with the St. Louis Rams, joins receivers Brandon Lloyd and Antwaan Randle El and tight end Christian Fauria as the newest additions to Joe Gibbs' team. The hard-hitting safety would appear to be the replacement for Ryan Clark, whom the Redskins were unable to re-sign before the start of free agency, but he also provides insurance in case Sean Taylor misses playing time because of aggravated assault charges in Florida.
Wow. Big money according to ESPN.com's John Clayton:
But the Redskins flashed $10 million in guarantees and a contract worth close to $5 million a year, and those thoughts ended. Archuleta became the Redskins' fourth addition from over the weekend, joining receivers Brandon Lloyd and Antwaan Randle El and tight end Christian Fauria.
Wow. I really don't know where all the money is coming from. I have to imagine that this is our last signing unless we make some big trades with guys with minimal sign. bonus' and large salaries.

It doesn't matter...

When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hold on....
I am a big fan of Adam Archuleta, it looks like he is the new starting SS and Clark, if re-signed is the backup...
Of course, if I was Clark I would jet.
Poor RC, oh well. Archuleta can start committing Capital Offenses like murdering WR's in DC.
If you want some visual imagery of how hard Archuleta hits, immagine a Jeep doing 65 and hitting a deer.

As a rams fan i need to let u know that you guys are not getting what you paid for.Arch has never been the same since his back problems 2 years ago. he cant make tackles and he is no longer the hard hitter he was years ago. i am a big acrhuelta fan but i know that he was never the same for the rams, therefore we never made any serious attempt to resign him. the money paid to him by the redskins in my opinion is "ridiculous":.......
I was looking for some videos of Achuleta hits, and by searching for it, I found an Adam Archuleta workout video.
I guess he is a freak in the weightroom and has his own excersize video for 29.95...
Wow.
Now where are those clips of vicious hits?!

Here's a pre-draft clip of his workout routines. I remember watching this when they showed it 5 years ago, too.
Originally when I saw it they showed him being dropped from the ceiling and landing on the floor in a push-up stance but I didn't see it in the video, they only talked about it

Hopefully Arch will be a better player now that he is on a good Defense.
As for the price we paid being ridiculous, we are just trying to make sure writers can say we are going to be in cap hell because of the signings we made in 2006.
archuleta's problem was not our defense....he would miss one on one tackles that he used to never miss before. im telling you that you guys will be very dissappointed.
I hear you.
We will just have to wait and see.
I don't think our coaching staff would want to sign the guy, if they didn't believe he could perform well in our Defense.

I echoed these same thoughts on another thread... Living here in StL I was a big fan when he arrived, but actually turned into a liability on an already bad defense... I hope he turns it around, but he got exposed in the open field so often here the last couple years, it makes me cringe at the amount of money the "skins spent...
