Very well said Rich. That is what I was thinking trying to catch up on all of these posts. We are looking ahead to the future of the Redskins with optimism. Why dwell in the past? We now have not just a new coach, but one with a proven track record on the NFL level. Dan Snyder did the only thing he could do to try and rite this ship: He brought back the only bright spot we've had for a loooong time. :D I have hated almost every move he has done up until that. Last year's Jet-stealing was ok in my opinion, and it did work out well. It just so happens that the loss of Lewis as DC cost us many games. We actually could have easily been in the playoffs, had our D played like they did the previous year under Marvin. Our offense was not exactly flashy, but pretty much got the job done and our D fell apart. I am done looking behind and looking to the future because that is what lies ahead.
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

Just heard on sporting news that winfield is drawing back from his unsigned deal with the jets. The Vikes and the Texans are rumored to be in the mix. I love the Jets post game interviews their coach as almost as entertaining as Jim Mora used to be.

the bees dont usually climb down a persons throat and sting their hearts though.. i dont see a need to mention superbowl titles every time smizzy says something.. every time i read a post of smizzy's i see someone bringing up superbowl titles and i dont find that necessary, nor is it necessary to bring up ours when were discussing our hopes for the future.. we need to focus on whats now, not 20 yeasr ago, 10 years a go, or even a year ago, look towards the future, it looks bright for both the jets and skins... also i must mention i was born in 87 and have no jg memories.. i was too young to remember any superbowls and my last playoff memory involves a man named turk..

Our views don't always have to be the same...but don't ask me about my views on the skins and i won't just openly give mine.

If we can't mention are Super Bowl victory's kid.....whats the use in winning them???? :hmm:

That's like applying for a job and saying i got a college degree but it was 10 years ago so it's not worth anything now.

Do you consider the Eagles franchise more successul then the Jets franchise??? The Eagles have been in more playoff games then the Jets in the past 2 decadeds, But i would consider the Jets more of a successful franchise because they've won the big one and the eagles haven't.

i understand you but.. for some ppl whats the point of talkin about superbowls u never watched.. i wish it so but i kinda feel left out when i hear ppl talkin about their memories, but thats really not too much of the point, just kinda pointing out that we dont need to unnecessarily take out our superbowl arsenal to bash people when we dont like what theyre saying, kinda got carried away with sayin we shouldnt remember at all, which was kind of overly selfish tellin ppl to not talk about memories just for the sake of the younger ones, sorry just kinda got carried away heh only so many things us younger ones can get from watching our parent's tapes.. i enjoy em but i kinda wanna make my own

Except Smiz keeps bringing up history every time we are talking about the future

i dont find that necessary, nor is it necessary to bring up ours when were discussing our hopes for the future..

Smiz - this is what I am talking about

also i must mention i was born in 87 and have no jg memories.. i was too young to remember any superbowls and my last playoff memory involves a man named turk..

Just because it is not relevant for you kiddo doesn't mean it isn't to me :) Sorry ::grin:: I appreciate the fact that you have stayed a fan during the dark ages though :)

If I didn't have my face put into the last four years every time I have been discussing the upcoming season, I wouldn't have to bring up the Superbowls :)

Smiz - more than half the times I can remember, you post your opinion of the Skins without being polled for it, and it usually consists of "Yeah, well, it has been this way for a while and it isn't going to change..."

The difference is we have a team with a coach. Not bumbling Norv who might be a good OC, but pampers favorite players while ignoring others. Not Marty "I hire my whole family no matter their qualifications" Schottenheimer, not Steve "I don't have any experience in the NFL, nor do my assistants, but we aren't changing even though it isn't working" Spurrier.

We have a man with a proven record when it comes to strategy, adaptation, personnel, community, team and winning. This does, in actuality, make his record relevant, and oh - by the way - Joe Gibbs won three SBs with three different RBs and three different QBs and adapted his style to all sorts of personnel. He is one of the winningest coaches of all times.

Tell ya what, instead of prognosticating failure Smiz, why not adapt a wait and see attitude. I know I am hyped, but I am looking at a realistic 9-7 to 10-6 record with Gibbs, even maybe missing on the playoffs. I am not doing the bragging thing (because we don't have anything to brag about yet), so there isn't any use in puncturing our balloons :)
