Amazing. WR and PR (and a bit of a QB) all in one.

Joe liked him all along. He had wonders to say about Randle El when he scored ona return against us (not this season but the one before, I think). :hmm:

You are sure, right?

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Dayum!!!! We aren't messing around! But I don't know man, I don't think we really needed him. But, What the heck. We got him and that is awesome! I can see it now. Quick screen to Randle and then a 40 yard bomb to Moss.

Moss + Randle El = Speed kills!
I saw this sign posted once, it said, 'blasting zone ahead'. Wow... shouldn't that read: 'Road Closed'? - Brian Regan

I'm glad that we got Randal El and Lloyd but we now have 4 wr's (moss, randal el, lloyd, patten) that basically do the exact same thing. We needed to add a red zone threat and we haven't done that yet. I can't really imagine us signing anymore receivers so I don't see how this is going to help us in the red zone. You can only run so many wr screens.

We signed him to be the slot and insurance incase one of our starters go down.

I am sure that Randle El will eclipse his 35 catches for 1 touchdown, which was last seasons total.

Take a look at any of the big time offenses of the past, they always had 3 good recievers and a good runnig back.

Rams 99: faulk, holt, bruce, hakim
Colts 2004: stoackley, harrison, wayne, james

There is plenty of other examples, but these are just a few of the recent ones.

We will be fine.

Three speedy Redskins -PLUS- Sellers, Portis, Cooley, and other TEs to come... :-"

And we do not have Red Zone threats???

Man, we are LOADED beyond anybody's expectations (and we are not done yet at TE).

I don't have the numbers, but weren't we ranked near the top of the NFL in red zone efficency? I felt our problem was getting to the red zone in the first place.

And while I think a large, Monk-type reciever is a great thing to have, it is far from a requisite. It's not like the Patriots or Steelers championship teams had a player like that.
I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back.

The ESPN article which was linked earlier, had a great quote:
ashington's offense has a Greatest Show on Turf feel for new coordinator Al Saunders

Great line ... \:D/

Are you guys kidding? No Red Zone threat? Have you guys seen Lloyd go up and get the ball on the fade? He outjumps everybody. And I seem to remember Cooley did pretty well in the red zone too...

Must seem like Christmas in Chicago, because they're stuck with No-EL.

It is a DONE deal:

Redskins Acquire Lloyd In Trade With 49ers
By Gary Fitzgerald
Redskins.com
March 12, 2006

The Redskins have acquired wide receiver Brandon Lloyd from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for two draft picks, the team has announced.

Lloyd entered the offseason as a restricted free agent and the 49ers tendered him a mid-level contract offer. The Redskins acquired Lloyd for a third-round draft choice in 2006 and a fourth-round draft choice in 2007.

Lloyd, 6-0 and 192 pounds, is regarded as a speedy receiver with a penchant for big plays. He is coming off a season in San Francisco in which he logged a career-high 48 catches for 733 yards, a 15.3 yards-per-catch average, and five touchdowns. He led the 49ers offense in receptions and receiving yards.

Lloyd was drafted out of Illinois in the fourth round (124th overall) in the 2003 NFL Draft by San Francisco. Lloyd first earned a starting role in 2004 after he added 10 pounds of bulk following his rookie season so that he could better withstand the rigors of the NFL. He responded by catching 43 passes for 565 yards and six touchdowns.

For his career, Lloyd has 105 catches for 1,510 yards and 13 touchdowns. Twenty-five of his catches have gone for 20 yards or more.

Lloyd hails from Kansas City. At Illinois, he led the offense his senior year with 64 catches for 1,010 yards and nine touchdowns. As a junior, he logged 65 catches for 1,062 yards and 10 TDs.

Lloyd joins a Redskins wide receiver corps that struggled to find a second option in the postseason last year. Santana Moss emerged as an elite receiver in the passing game, but David Patten and James Thrash were sidelined by injuries and Taylor Jacobs was unable to establish himself in the offense.
