Bentley to Eagles

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Bentley to Eagles

He is an awfully good player. I hate to see him on a division rival...but I thought that Hank Fraley was pretty good, and had a great relationship with McNabb and his linemates...I'm not sure I understand this move.

I understand it. Face it, the Eagles suck, they need all the help they can get!

Sounds like the Ealges paid him Left Off Tackle money...Centers normally don't get 5-6 mil a year.

The Eagles have a load of cap room -- guess they didn't mind overspending.

They need WRs, a RB and a backup QB more than a new center...

Other Eagles news according to KFFL.com:

Eagles | Team likely to sign Garcia later this week
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 08:30:16 -0800

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports the Philadelphia Eagles are likely to sign free agent QB Jeff Garcia (Lions) later this week.

Ooh, I'm scared. I guess Jeff and Donovan will have a lot to talk about once TO gets cut.

Eagles | Team might sign M. Anderson later this week
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 08:29:02 -0800

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports the Philadelphia Eagles might sign free agent RB Mike Anderson (Broncos) later this week. Anderson has interest from several teams and may weigh his offers. The Eagles might take that time to gauge the market for a dependable backup running back.

Eagles | Rumor alert: team could sign Givens
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 05:41:46 -0800

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports there is some talk that the Philadelphia Eagles could sign free agent WR David Givens (Patriots).

Browns | Bentley on way to Cleveland
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 09:14:55 -0800

610 WIP Sports Radio in Philadelphia reports free agent C LeCharles Bentley (Saints) is on his way to Cleveland to visit the Cleveland Browns. It was earlier reported that Bentley had already agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and there was a rumor that he was going to visit the Eagles on Saturday, March 11.

On Sirius they say the deal is already done and Bentley is going to Cleveland! Again, another huge screw-up by the Eagles FO!!! ROTFALMAO

At 12:02 the Browns were reported to have signed David Givens, whoever KFFL is getting it's info from in Cleveland needs to double check his/her sources.

How can you have a deal in place for over a week when free agency hadn't started yet? There was no lock on what the cap would be or if there would even be a cap in year two of the contract.

Either someone is blowing smoke or the Iggles have been breaking rules

Apparently, someone hacked into the Browns website. It was also about 11:15 so it is good it wasn't true because that would have been big time tampering.

This lends some credence to the story though, from a Philadelphia Eagles source nontheless:

Eagles | No free agents scheduled to visit Saturday
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 09:15:19 -0800

Dave Spadaro, of PhiladelphiaEagles.com, reports the Philadelphia Eagles have no free agent players scheduled to visit on Saturday, March 11.

In the original storie about Bentley signing he was supposed to be there today finishing things off. It's pretty obvious that reports that Bentley was signing with them are wrong!

I guess that's the end of Jeff Faine...

I wonder if the Skins can get him, work him into the lineup for when Raybach moves on...

Good I'm glad those two guys (Bentley and Schaffer) aren't in our division. It also makes me feel good that the Raven's are being passed in that division. Its beginning to look like Savage and not Ozzie Nwsome was the genius behind the Ravens success a few years back!
