What would it take for you to part with Patrick Ramsey?

I wouldn't trade him period, he's too valuable.

I said fourth round pick, but it should be added that I'd also want a group of prospects, devolopmental players as well. My rationing? We're paying three QB's starter's saleries right now and with a Ramsey trade, we'll free up a good deal of money this year and however many years he has left on his contract that can be used to stregthen a weak spot in another area of the team or add depth where it's always needed.

However, the trade is supposedly for a fifth-round pick and then a conditional pick for '07 which could end up being a 3rd round pick depending on how often/how well Ramsey plays for the Jets (according to the New York Post)

Ramsey would probably play one, two years max in New York and then give way to their draft pick this year...

I wish Ramsey the best, but it is looking like the naysayers were right, he's a career backup :(

I said I would trade him for nothing less than a third. I still believe that Ramsey can be a solid starting QB in this league. I feel that he was never really give a fair shot by Joe Gibbs and he has shown moments of brilliance, and he is still young. Unfortunately, I think we will be lucky to get a fourth round pick for him.

I voted 3rd, but this is what I would min I would trade for...
a 4th this year AND
a 2nd next year, if he makes the pro-bowl or
a 3rd next year, if he starts all 16 games and doesn't make the pro bowl or
a 4th next year, if he starts 12 games or
a 5th next year, if he starts 6 games
a 6th next year, if he starts any games
5 in a row or we don't go!

No way I'd trade him at all until being convinced that Campbell was going to work out as a guy who could take us through the playoff. I don't ever want to see an exhausted or injured Brunell making a farce of it again. Trade the Ram for a couple of thirds or a second when the timings right...wait.

Even if Campbell isn't ready Ramsey has to be moved now. Not only for the cap space, but he is going into his last year and we will get nothing for him. If we wait until after the draft the need won't be a high. You can't get a second for a guy everyone knows you are about to dump. Get what we can for Patrick and bring in Todd Collins to ease your fears.

In hindsight, we should have just traded Ramsey at the end of last season. Then, we probably would have gotten a day one pick for him, right now we will only probably get a 2nd day draft choice.

Jets wait on Ramsey; Broncs after Abraham

BY RICH CIMINI
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

The Jets began the free-agency signing period at 12:01 this morning with two hot items on their agenda - Patrick Ramsey and John Abraham.

Searching for a starting-caliber quarterback, the Jets remain involved in trade talks for Ramsey, a Redskins backup, but it apparently will take a few days before Ramsey's destination is known. The Jets have made an offer, believed to be a seventh-round pick in next month's draft, but the Redskins are holding out for a fourth-rounder or better.

Ramsey, who has permission from the Redskins to speak with other teams, is drawing interest around the league and he's expected to visit the Dolphins next week. Ramsey, 27, huddled with Jets officials three days ago at Weeb Ewbank Hall.

The Jets will continue to explore other options at quarterback. The two free agents atop their list are the Bengals' Jon Kitna and the Cards' Josh McCown. When last season ended, the Jets, looking to acquire competition for the injury-plagued Chad Pennington, had identified Ramsey and McCown as their top targets.

That's the Times... The NY post is reporting a 3rd and a pos pick next year with the deal pretty much done.

Go figure - it's the media

What I heard recently was a 4th or 5th this year and a conditional pick next year (could be as high as a 3rd in 2007). I'd take that deal, but obviously if someone wants to offer us a higher pick then I'm alright with that as well. Considering we now have only 1 pick on Day 1 of this year's draft (our 2nd).

The Ramsey situation just got better, Culpepper to the Dolphins,Brees to the Saints,Kitna to the Lions. Now the Jets are in need really bad, we need to force there hand a hike up the price tag because 7th round just not goin to work

The Saints will trade their first pick now, 9 times out of 10 it will be to a QB starved team and this will push the Jets buttons. Or there could be some truth to this rumor . If true I'll be pissed, but would go for it if there are no 2007 pick invovled

Im just hoping that we get anything for him now that todd C. has been signed and with all the QB's being moved (brees,Culpepper, Kitna, Schaub, arron brooks?) Teams know we need to get rid of him one way or another to save the 1.7 mil.
