It may be possible that a smart business man has figured out how to circumvent the salary cap. I really believe in the years to come more franchises will begin to follow his lead. Even now, owners look more closely at restricted free agents because of Dan. I must also admit I am worried about a player sell off because of cap management!!
Death to all things remotely BLUE and SILVER!!!!!!!!!!! Hail Skins
With the new contract the NFL is going to be signing with TV and the increase in revenue from teams that used to sell few tickets: Arizona, Cincy, Panthers. The overall league revenue is going to be significantly higher with a corasponding effect on the salary cap. % of league rev. I think Dan is banking on this and other teams have not realized it yet. Its a risk but I'm pretty sure the cap figure will hit 100 million in 2006 if not 2005 Then some of our contracts won't be so bulky and the longer ones with young guys Lavar, Coles and Portis will be nice to have.
good point.
either that or there going to start outsourcing all the position on the team to china
