Let's all chip in, and make an offer the 'skins can't match and get rid of Ade once and for all.
What's your best offer ?

No way! This guy has emerged as a very good player.

I had no clue how he had managed to stay on the team his first couple of seasons but last year was a breakout performance for him. He played not just good, but great football all year. All this plus the fact that he was thrust into the nickel spot and even had to start a few games because of injuries. He is no longer a liability on defense, quite the contrary, and as usual his special teams play was exceptional.

We need this guy to stick around. I can definately see him playing nickel back next year if Harris is cut. This guy has a great attitude and has made INCREDIBLE strides so far. We need guys who work as hard as he obviously has and have his kind of character on this team.

I never understood how he kept a roster spot until this year. Now I would do everything possible to keep him and I'm thrilled that we gave him a qualifying offer. GO ADE!!!

I agree with everything HK said. Ade filled in very well when our corners were banged up and was a terror on teams.

I agree. Ade deserves a shot. He has managed to stick around longer than I ever expected. Keep up the good work.

Before last year I would have said get rid of him. Last year though he played well on ST and when called upon to play DB. I'm glad they want to keep Ade.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing him go for a draft pick, if the guy was even drafted (I don't know). However, if Williams & co. think that he's turned a corner and is becoming a solid DB good enough to play consistently at Nickleback, who am I to argue? Walt Harris is as good as gone and Carlos Rogers will be starting again next year. Who else do we have? Christian Morton? Dimitri Patterson? NFL Europe bound Aric Williams? Those are all devolopmental players. We'll probably draft another corner this year in the late rounds.

Nevermind, Jimoh was an undrafted rookie free agent when we picked him up in 2003. If they think he's worth keeping, so be it. Besides, he's a good special teams player and you always need those guys to hang around.

I agree ... mostly. My bigest concern is depth. If we go through with the planned cuts/waiving of Raymer ($985,000), Bowen ($2 million), Harris ($2 million), Noble ($1.7 million) and Tupa ($770,000 or $661,000 depending on whether the CBA is extended) plus Hall ($1.5 million or $1.035 million) and Jacobs ($460,000 or $176,000) - we would clear about $7M in cap room - but at the expense of depth and experience within our system. Ade has improved this past year and is a special teams ontributer. We need to keep him for depth and experience - unless we get a high draft pick for him which will be unlikely.

If we use the minimun tender, we get a draft pick equal to what we choose to snag him as compensation. I don't know if we get one if he's undrafted. If we use the middle tender, we'd get a first round pick... and no one's going to give a first rounder for him. I say keep him around. It can't hurt us that bad.

My memories of Ade this past season are making a number of jarring hits on an opponent's punt retuner. He was the first man downfield and clearly showed he can tackle. The coaches obviously like him as a player. So why shouldn't we?

I think that you are talking about two years ago. Last year he really stepped it up. And don't forget the game against Minnisotta when he was stuck playing against Randy Moss and kept him scoreless. Thats pretty good to me. I don't think he's a starter but depth at a low cost. I'll take that.

Jimoh got embarassed against Denver when he finally got his chance to play defense. But after that, he steadily improved his defensive skills and started to shine on special teams.

If he keeps it up, he deserves to be brought back.

We didn't play Minnesota last year. Did you mean Oakland? Wasn't Moss hurt by that point in the season?

Not last year. He's gotten better, as young players are supposed to do.

I actually agree with this post 100%. In years passed, I was certainly on the "Dump Jimoh" bandwagon. Last year, however, after seeing the impressive job he did on special teams, I wouldn't mind having this kid around one more year to see if he can improve in the secondary.

He's a solid special teamer, though. No one can certainly argue that point.

On one play where he lost a jump ball to Ashley Lelie who is three inches taller than him. Despite that he played a great game! With Harris out with an injury Plummer only had 92yds passing and he was the one who sacked Plummer for the "safety". He still played pretty well in that game.

Is Jimoh a top CB in this league? Nope.

Is he a good replacement for Springs and/or Rogers? Nope.

I can not believe that a mediocre player would bring so many strong opinions in his favour. Yeah, yeah, he had a few good plays on special teams. But let me ask you:

Would your heart remain at the same pace if he comes to replace an injured starter in the playoffs next year? Nope? Neither would mine, you are not alone.

Competition, competition, competition. Bring more CBs to training camp and give them a shot. If Jimoh is as good as you guys claim, let's allow him to earn and win his job.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

I've taken notice to Ade's improvement for quiet a while...would like to keep folks on the squad that give as hard as he does.
