Isaac Bruce?
Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports agent Jimmy Sexton said four teams have expressed an interest in free agent WR Isaac Bruce (Rams). The Post-Dispatch has confirmed the Washington Redskins are one of those four teams.

While the Rams had only a brief discussion Monday with Bruce's agent, Jimmy Sexton, four teams had called expressing interest in Bruce by late afternoon. Sexton declined to name those teams, but the Post-Dispatch confirmed the identity of three of the clubs: Detroit, Houston and Washington.

He is getting old, he's good. I don't think we will get him because of the money.

wow.
yes we have mentioned this, i know because i mentioned it. tsss.
i think he would be a great pick up. he might be old but not too old to make a difference as a #2 reciever. I think he would be a great complement to Santana. He's someone with sure hands and he can run great routes.I'm hoping the source is right about Washington looking him up.

Nothing's more exciting than a life of a Redskin fan. haha yuuup.
... those close to Bruce say he remains hopeful that something can be done with the Rams.
If not, the early signs are that there will be a healthy market for Bruce. Some feel the uncertainty of the NFL's labor situation may slow player movement this offseason. But in terms of wide receivers, it's a seller's market.
It's a so-so year at that position in free agency.
Its going to be a good year to be a free agent WR $$$
I personally think he would be a nice fit. The way that our offense utilizes different receivers in different sets might maximize his capability to stretch the field. The defense would be forced to let up on the double coverage of Santana-Clause.
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."

From all reports out of St. Louis, the Rams are still trying to resign him, but the St. Louis Post Dispatch did report the Skins did make contact with him after he was cut.

If nothing else, Scott Linehan has shown himself to be an upbeat, positive-thinking person during his early tenure as Rams head coach. So it wasn't surprising to hear Linehan express optimism that wide receiver Isaac Bruce would re-sign with the club after being released Sunday night.
"Even though there was a cut that was made, it doesn't mean in my mind that we're not going to get a deal done," Linehan said. "So I feel very positive about resuming talks, and getting that uniform back on our guy. We'll do everything we can to make that happen."
When asked what made him optimistic about re-signing Bruce, Linehan said: "Because I think we're in pretty good position to start up the talks again. We're going to make a commitment to try to get it done. I'm sure there's other people that look there and say, 'Boy, it'd be nice to have him.'
"But his value to this organization is much higher than his ability as a football player, believe me. So we're going to make the effort that needs to be made to try to get it done."

Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

If you are released like in LaVar or Glover's cases you can sign esle where as soon as 3 days after you are cut. If your contract expired at the end of the 2005 year you have to wait until the official start of free agency.
I think the Rams are under the cap and have a clear need at DT so they signed a player. A lot of teams are not as snug against the salary cap as we are. Teams like the Eagles, Vikings, Cards, and others are 20 mil under without a new CBA.

why in the world would detroit be looking for a WR?? this report is completely bogus.
regardless of whether their 3 recent high 1st round WRs are actually any good (not saying they are, not sayng they aren't), matt millen believes strongly in developing those guys and can't be considering bringing in someone like bruce.
