Skiing in Whistler

Post by UK Skins Fan »

To all my Canadian friends out there - the Brits are coming! Well, one of us is anyway. Yes, at the end of this month, I'll be heading to Whistler for a week of snow, skiing, steaks, pancakes and beer.

10 hours of flying, another four hours getting to and from airports. So, the Alps are less hassle, but if you're going to ski, then why wouldn't you go to the best there is?

I've started this thread, not to encourage debate or discussion, but purely to boast. I'm going to Whistler - na na na na na na na.

I skied Whistler/Blackcolmb a couple of years ago in the middle of March also. The temp was great but it was very foggy the entire week I was there esp; around the middle of the mountain. The resort was awesome, there are lots of runs because there are two mountains to choice from and it is alot cheaper then Denver and Utah, where I usually go. The Winter Olymipics are there in 4 years. Have a great time, you'll love it. I'll be in Park City, Utah this year.

Olympic 2010 prep has already started at whistler, hope it doesnt ruin the skiing. I understand that the whistler area has some of the worlds best smoke, if interested.

This is actually the third time I've been to Whistler. Last year they had a dreadful January, but it barely stopped snowing in April when I was there. This year, they had the best January in 30 years, so skiing should be great from top to bottom.

Park City is on my list of must visit places, along with Tahoe, Aspen and Vail. What's it like getting a drink in Utah - don't you have to become a member to get a beer?

Yeah I like whistler also but like I said it was very foggy that week, bad luck I guess. Tahoe is a little over-rated the elevation is not that high so spring skiing is not the best there, winter is the time for Tahoe. Colorado and Utah I feel is great spring time skiing, my fav resort in Colorado is Crestedbute and Vail. Have a great time in Canada, eat some beaver tail and putine

Whistler received lots of snow yesterday. This time of year is hit or miss! You might be skiing in shorts and t-shirts!

Here's the Whistler Web-Cam so you can keep up to date on conditions! Enjoy your trip.
If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck?
