Yeah...it's not as if he did so well because weakside was dominant. That there middle is tight...the end around guys, we could use a little tweaking. I think McCune can be the guy...with a little more time on the job.

The beautiful thing about a potntial headache is that I do not have to lose any sleep over it. I KNOW that GW will sort it out probably in ways I did not contemplate in the first place (although some of us will claim that we knew alll along)

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Great idea, let us think of the options:
1) Marshall moves to weak side and a current player (x or y) steps in at MLB;
2) Marshall moves to weak side and future player (x or y) comes at MLB;
3) Existing player (x or y) in the team fills-in at OLB;
4) Outside player (x or y) is brought in or drafted to fill-in at OLB.
Everybody must give a name together with their vote to get any credit.
Same, different, what?

LaVar is looking to go to the NFC -East, but he would be unable to wear dallas colors, so that leaves two teams.
RIP 21

LOL. Man, it's not like you lost a girl you were in love with. I had those feelings after my girlfriend and I broke up, but not over a football player. Everything will be fine, as long as he gets out of our division.
Whatever man girls are replaceable. LaVar is my hero.
My dog is named "Mini" LaVar for crying out loud.
This sucks so bad.
I always feared this day would come but I wasn't prepared. I'm devastated by this. Watching him play for another team is going to kill me.

Wow. I have mixed feelings about this. In the long run i do think its good for the team. We get more cap relief and as soon as the new cba is signed tomorrow, the cap will go up to probably 110 mil or so, which will give us some room to work with. That being said, i will definalty miss LA. Ill always remember the Troy aikman hit, the Carolina INT return, the Kurt warner Strip to win against st. Louis, the throw down of the gauntlet, if you will, against Warren Sapp. And always remeber him throwing the host of While you were out T.V. show, to the ground and ripping off his cowboys jersey! I love his heart, i love his character, and i love his passion for the game, and especially for the fans and community of washington. People say hes selfish for not redoing his contract, but as B.H. stated, this actually helps the skins out! It was the best for the team and for himself. Who knows the whole reason why, mabye it was because he was no longer the "face" of the team. Mabye he didnt get along with Greg williams and dale lindsey. Mabye he is still pissed about the playing time and spats with the organization. Mabye he felt disrespected. Mabye its a combination of all these and more. But we must remember this is a business! And in saying that, he still did an honorable thing. He could have thrown a fit ala Coles, or just flat refuse to redo any deal with out paying money back and forcing the issue. But he realized that it is just time to move on and did so while still trying to come to an amicable situation for both parties. Im not making him out to be a saint, but in the big picture i believe LA is a man, a honest person (at least more so than most pro atheletes, and a lot of people in general), and i wish him the absolute best in whatever he chooses. For almost ANY other player i would be putting my jersey up on ebay.... I choose to keep his.

I think we have a combination of 3 & 4...Im not straddling the fence but I think we end up elevating Chris Clemons to WLB and drafting at the position for depth. If Holdman remains, they share time at the position (I HATE HOLDMAN) but I think that is what happens and we groom a good young talent behind them.
I just think that we will be somewhat limited in FA and we will likely seek a WR or DE before an LB.

It'd be nice if they gave out draft picks just for cutting a guy...
... but they don't.

Compensatory picks are for people who lose FREE AGENTS... which Lavar was not.
We got 4+ million dollars worth of cap relief... that's what we got.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

I just heard him say that in the interview on 980! He would like to see if he could play at FedEx at least once a year and he would have a great deal of difficulty in putting on a Dallass uniform.
He still thinks he has a lot of "proving" to do and he has no axe to grind with the Redskins but he wants to show it off on our field.
all the best LA we will be in the playoffs and maybe we will see you there too!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I bet he ends up with the 49ers. They let Julian Peterson go and they have cap space available.

I liked the early Lavar as a player and always loved the person. His severe insecurity issues are what started the end here in washington as well as the ridiculus contract we gave him before Gibbs took over. I wish him well wherever he ends up(I don't mind if it is in the NFC East either
) and I'm glad he's gone. He wasn't worth his contract, plain and simple. We can sign 3 solid players for what he was making and get at least double the production.
This was a great move by Gibbs and he manuevered it in a way that made everyone look good.

I think this will help the team get better, and prove to be aaddition by subtraction. Arrington's agents are buffoons for even accepting this deal. Especially with the uncertainty surrounding the free agent market this year, why in the heck would he take think he can get more money elsewhere.
I bet his agents end up looking like fools again.

Lavar was a great individual player and a charming ambassador for the team. But the fact is that we did not win while he was the center of attention. He did not make players around him better. He did not turn the team around. He was not the leader behind the scenes that we needed to get to the next level.
Is that too much to put on a player?
Not in the salary cap era if the player is making $10 Million per year.
Giants | Pierce pushing for Arrington
Tue, 7 Mar 2006 05:18:43 -0800
Mike Garafolo, of the Star-Ledger, reports one New York Giants player said Monday, March 6, that MLB Antonio Pierce has begun making a big push for the team to sign free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins). The Giants player, who requested anonymity, said the team is interested in Arrington, but isn't certain the franchise has enough money under the current salary cap to afford him. In a radio interview in Washington yesterday, Arrington said he wants to stay in the NFC East, but would prefer not to play for the Cowboys. That would leave the Giants and Philadelphia Eagles as prime candidates for him to sign with.
