What the heck is wrong with you all?

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Like I said before, wouldn't it be funny if the CBA got extended after the Dolphins, Broncos, Bills, and Panthers already all started making cuts?! Tragic for them but funny for us.

Espn is reporting that players released during this ordeal can be reclaimed by the teams that are releasing them if a new CBA is reached.

If an extension is reached, what happens to players already released for cap purposes?
A high-level source with one NFL team told ESPN.com the league has informed teams that any player placed on waivers during this period of uncertainty can be recalled from waivers until there is more clarity about the pending free-agency period.)

According to ESPN this only applies to players that were cut on Thursday because those players have no yet officially been placed on waivers. The players cut on Wednesday, such as Pryce, Putzier, etc. are officially on the waiver wire and those moves cannot be cancelled by their teams.

So I'm trying to figure out whether you have just been oblivious to everything coming out of Redskins Park the past two weeks or if you just have that little faith in the leadership of our team. Cerrato and Gibbs have both said countless times over the past few days that the team HAS always considered any and all possible scenarios and will be prepared no matter what the outcome of CBA talks is. Where is your faith???

I think most here are not that concerned!

..So we cut a bunch of people for next year. So what. We suck for one year. I can live with that

We will be in the playoffs this year primarily because of the staff not the players. We will have a good team again because the players will be prepared to win. This is why Gibbs is the best. The players will "look" good but that will be mainly due to the staff, IMO!
Actualy we all know how good Gibbs is when the NFL is in any sort of "chaos"!!!

..After that there will not be a cap in 2007 and if that happens, the chances of going back to a cap anytime soon are very small.

The owners will NEVER allow the players to have no cap, no way, never! - this is completely different sports situation and the NFL player has a much shorter time to make money than a MLB idiot.

What is not being widely reported is there are a number of owners who DO NOT WANT a cap any more. They see this as their best chance to make that a reality. They don't mind spending cash to put a winning team on the field. (I'm sure Danny boy is one of these.)

I respectfully, totally disagree. There may be a few (Danny will do what Gibbs wants not the other way around!)

..I say, suck it up for a year then let The Danny open up his big wallet!! Now that he understands the need to let his football experts make the personnel decisions, the Skins will contend for the title for years to come!! (just not next year)

The cap did not come into existence until the early 90's. I SEEM to recall the 80's as a pretty good decade for the Skins….

Again this is all past tense! This team is going to be Gibbs team while he is here and Snyder has learnt what that means. He will support whatever Gibbs wants but he is a very intelligent owner and he will ride this horse all the way to the winners circle.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
