Adam schefter was on NFL ACCESS at around 7:20 and said the Redskins are staring at MASSIVE CUTS(12-15 players he said) if this CBA doesnt get done by Friday. He said we are by far the team that will lose out the most. The sugarcoating and the "its no big deal" attitude days are over........We potentially could be staring at the worst 4 days Redskin history. Guys this is my theraapy right now...I cant even enjoy the combines ....This will be a unmigigated disaster if this CBA DOESNT GET DONE.....guys please join me tonite , after praying for your faimly and friends health this should be topic #3 ....This week could get VERY ugly...now is the time to get prepared..Joe gibbs said they have a plan for the " worst case scenario" I ask you the fan base..Ru prepared for the worst case scenario...Because its going to take some tough minds and tough heart to watch some "Gibbs Redskins" get cut.........And please dont tell me all is ok You will sound and look like some people who stayed in there homes for Hurricane KATRINA saying ' "WHAT ME WORRY WE WILL WEATHER THIS OUT"....Please Pray!! Hard!!!

Riggo all of it is used as figure of speech..All im saying is these next 4 days will be emotional roller coaster for us as redskin fans if this doesnt get done....Everyone saying everything will be fine are just plain wrong and ignorant.after taking some solid steps forward these next 4 days could monster steps backwards

HATSOFF im just going on everything im reading and seeing ..This is big offseason for us we are on verge of something really big.......Cutting at least 10 players doesnt help your progress it can only hamper never mind resigning some valuable UFA'S.....Its a terrible downer

Look on the bright side. If there is no new CBA then admittedly we'll be thin at several spots for next year but the long term effects could be great. Can you imagine what Gibbs and co. could do with Snyder's budget during the uncapped years that would be set to follow.

What really scares me is that what if we dont get a new CBA by Friday, we cut all those players, and then we get a new CBA sometime later. That way, Snyder wont get to use his check book in a salary cap-free NFL and we lose a bunch of starters.

Some good news though is that I heard John Clayton on ESPN say that some progress has been made towards a new CBA...hope all goes well.

A lot of the talk I've seen about the CBA has been a little too technical for my understanding, but from what I can tell one of the reasons why this represents such a huge issue is that if no new agreement is reached and the current CBA expires there will be no turning back as the expression goes. If thats the case then this wouldnt be an issue. Anyone have more info on this?

I totally agree with Mezzskin, because I don't think you guys understand what the CBA means to us.

You guys are acting as if there is no CBA, then the NFL will be like the MLB and we could turn into the Yankees, but you're wrong.

If there is no CBA, not only do we have cut like 1/5 of our roster, but nor will we be able to sign anyone decent.

Again, if there is no CBA deal, WE ARE SCREWED. IT IS NOT GOOD, ESPECIALLY FOR US.

However, I can't imagine the World Powerhouse NFL can be so stupid as to not agree and risk the negativity of no CBA and a possible strike in 2008.

Don't mean to beat a dead horse but how am I (we) wrong in using the MLB analogy. Dont get me wrong I understand the implications for next year, but in 5-10 years if the NFL does away with the salary cap similar to the MLB how would that have possibly helped anyone more than it would the Skins???

Believe me, it won't.

If there is no new deal signed, they will see how bad it gets in 06-07 and then the possible strike in 08, plus all the negative publicity...

The only thing that will come out of the non-CBA deal for the Redskins is the destruction of our chemistry, roster, and our legitimate chances of being an NFC Powerhouse.

INDIANAPOLIS — The NFL's 2006 salary cap likely will be announced on Monday, an NFL source told Scout.com.

According to the source, the cap will be set at $95 million per team, on the high end of the $92-95 million figures that have been under discussion.
These same sources told Scout.com that members of one NFL organization are telling their staff that there is a very strong chance the Collective Bargaining Agreement will be extended by the March 3 deadline.

the problem for a everyone is teams who have huge cap space, like green bay (20mil.) once all of these players are cut, and they will be cut, teams such as the packers will gladly scoop them up. cut reynaldo wynn? that guy is one of the leaders of your defense! james thrash is a special teams star who we could use any day of the week. the big name guys aren't the problem, it is the ones who hold your team together. wild.

Maybe what you're thinking about is the comment by Gene Upshaw, the players' union boss, that if/when the current CBA expires without an extension, there's "no way" the players' union will again accept a salary cap.

The praying is working! Now wouldn't it be awesome if the cap got raised to say $120 mil this year! The FAs this offseason would definately be happy and we could really go out and do something with our money. Not going to happen but we can always pray for that too.

No matter how much the CAP gets raised I dont want us falling back into the ways that are currently binding us. We need to weather this storm and not go through it again. Granted we've been pretty decent with money recently.

I would not say don't get worked up about the cap as it is definitely a concern. But you have to keep in mind that both sides are in the scare tactic mode right now. Making dire predictions as to what world calamity will happen if the cap isn't renewed. It is to both the leagues and players union benefit to renew the cap but each wants to do it on their terms, to their best advantage. And for those others who are saying that the sky will fall (like MLB) should remember that the NFL worked very well before the cap. Think back to the pre-cap era, were there more dynasties then? Do you think the cap is responsible for all of the multi-million dollar player contracts?

As for the media predictions about which teams will collapse because they have to cut all of their star players, you need to find out who they are posturing for, the players union or the owners. Keep in mind also that the media predicted that the Redskins would finish last in their divisioin, if they finished at all. How accurate was the media then? Why place so much credence on their predictions now?
