NFL Simulation/Game - Multiplayer, Continuous Seasons
For several years now, I've been in search of a simulation or game (for the PC or other), having multiple participants, that allows for continuous seasons. By continuous I mean where after the league's season ends, you then go into the offseason, draft, etc., and the league transitions into another new season. There are games that have such a feature ("Franchise" mode on Madden for instance, or http://www.solecismic.com/fof/index.php for example) but they don't <EASILY> allow for multiple participants (human players - your friends). Conversely, there are leagues available that allow human players (Madden Online for instance or http://www.whatifsports.com/nfl-l/default.asp for example) but they don't allow for multiple seasons. Perhaps the closest thing to this, that I know of, are "keeper" Fantasy Football leagues. Of course Fatasy Football has it's own limitations, including the fact that two seasons takes two years to complete! I'm hoping that someone on here, some geek like me, knows of some get-around, some way to satisfy this off-season itch. The technology is out there, I don't understand why I (or we) have had to wait this long. To be an NFL GM and compete with other humans - Thats a dream job and a dream game (or simulation).

For a while, I used to manage a team on http://www.hattrick.org
It's not football (it's the other kind of football), but that was a pretty great game to be a part of. I eventually dropped the team because it didn't interest me quite as much as an American football simulation league would.
I agree, the technology is all there, and whoever is the first to create such a league will have a popular website indeed.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any that exist currently.
Hopefully you and I (and others) won't have to wait too long before something comes along. . .
