For size alone, Jason Hatcher Grambling St. 6'6 285 4.75 is attractive ... but how is he on the bull rush?

Jason Hatcher,

He is a player listed at defensive end but I feel is better suited for defensive tackle
He posses a good body structure who has the body frame to add another 20 plus pounds easily, as a defensive lineman he posses above average foot quickness and movement
He is not overly quick off the snap but he provides better than average penetration into opponents line of scrimmage with his physical play and spin moves he employs on them
He reminds me of current NFL defensive end/ tackle "Richard Seymour", in similar body structure and movement within the interior line area, along with their similarities with an active motor and the ability to beat opponents consistently in one on one situations
If he were to add the extra weight I mentioned above he could really be a force at the next level, as long as his game keeps progressing and he sustains the intensity he shows on a every play basis
However, there are times he plays too high off his initial move from scrimmage which exposes more of himself to opponents to block of him, and will make him less effective in his play, and at times he does not play up to his size which can be cause for a red flag
Ultimately I feel his overall talent and determination to make himself a better player will be the difference in determinating him as a player at the next level

Stanley McClover,
McClover could honestly be the most talented pass rusher in the nation this year potentially. He just has a ton of ability at the DE position. McClover is lighting off of the edge, he has a very quick first step. He is not however a soft pass rusher, he is very physical and can take on blockers despite his weight. The key to his game though is speed, he can get around almost any offensive lineman just on pure quickness and anticipation. When he gets around the football he makes plays as well, he does not just get hurries on the QB, he know how to take the QB down and force fumbles by stripping the ball or just off of the pure force he hits them with. McClover is listed as a sophomore next year but he was a partial qualifier in 2003, he practiced but did not play, so I believe he is eligible for next years draft. It would not surprise me at all if he comes out early for the draft and is a 1st round pick, he has that kind of potential. Last year he was a relatively unknown player outside of the Sugar Bowl. After this season though, everyone will know who Stanley McClover is, he is a very talented prospect and has a lot of potential at DE.

Strengths:
• Speed rushing ability off of the edge
• Overall force he hits with, very powerful player despite his size
• Very quick and agile athlete that could play OLB if he really wanted to
• Is good at getting under the pads of the offensive lineman

Weaknesses:
• Does not have ideal height for a DE, is moderately short for the position
• Might be to much of a boarderline DE/OLB
• Will have to prove he can consistently be a dangerous pass rusher this year
McClover played in 24 games during his Auburn career tallying 66 tackles, 23 1/2 tackles for loss and 15 1/2 sacks.

Eric Henderson,
Henderson is a very tough football player. Has good size and strength, and is an absolute great run stuffer. He is also a good pass rusher, but he is not a speed DE. His game is very balanced against the run and pass. He needs to prove he can stay healthy, though. He is a fine player, but during junior year he was expected to have an All-American type season and he ended up missing the first three games with an injury and his team's bowl game with another injury. None of his injuries have been serious, just nagging minor ones. If Henderson can stay healthy for his senior season, he could be a first rounder depending on which underclassmen declare. What seperates Henderson from the rest of the DE's are his ability to get tackles for losses and stop the run. Henderson is one of the hidden gem's in college football. If he stays healthy, he will get lots of attention.

Strengths:
• Is a terror versus the run
• Great strength on the line

Weaknesses:
• Has to overcome small injuries
• Likely will never dominate with high sack numbers

Manny Lawson out of North Carolina St. is the opposite side of Mario Williams r arevery high compliments being paid to him so far. Ive seen him play he is 6"5" 245 and is an awsome athlete he is relentless in the pass rush and I think actually plays harder than Mario Edwards and may be an awsome addition to our already stout defense. He may slip to the later rounds so I am hoping the skins can pick him up.

Anyone one of those guys you mentioned would be a nice pick up. My first choices would be Manny Lawson then Stanley Mcgrover out of Auburn. If it doesnt pan out at DE you can always play a 3-4 scheme and use one of them as an hybrid de lb.

I like Ray Edwards from Purdue, or Darryl Tapp myself, but whoever Joe and Gregg agree on I will be happy with...

I'd also like to see us draft a new TE but go for WR in free agency.

I also think Dumervil will be there, he is a true pass rusher. I like Wimbley but dont think he would be there in the 3rd.
