That contest will go down in history! To be honest i think Andre Iguodala should have won! The most funny thing i saw was when Josh Smith put duck tape from really far back and did a free throw line dunk and stepped over the line :lol:

he got a 41, and everyone was laughing at him! Im gonna make a poll for best dunk overall but when you post say who was the real winner

OK, it's ignorant limey time again. Just what is a slam dunk contest and, more importantly, what the heck is the point of a slam dunk contest?

Thanks 1niksder. I must admit, I'm puzzled that such an event even exists. But hey - over here, we have celebrity ice dancing on prime time Saturday TV, so who am I to talk?

It's once a year during the NBA All Star weekend. There is also a rookie All Star game, a Ledgends Game, 3pt shootout, and a skills challenge prior to the All-Star game

UK Skins Fan, you are right! I'm puzzled like you. This year the contest was okay but for the most part it stinks. It has been around a long time and every year it's the same crap, I don't know anyone who really even cares to see it anymore. But that almost goes for the entire NBA, the NBA ratings are droping like a rock in water.

Dude, Hakim Warrick got robbed!... ok maybe not, but he's my favorite NBA player :oops:

And yes, while Iguodala got robbed, he sort of wussed out towards the end. I mean he did the same dunk 2 times in a row. I mean, "Through The Legs" is cool, but now it's too common.

And acutally, I think Josh Smith got robbed as well. Yes it was funny when he put down the tape but only did a Free Throw Line Dunk, but hey, it was a sweet free throw line dunk. Then he dunked over a guy so I think he got robbed... THEY ALL GOT ROBBED.

The Dunk contest needs more Dunkers and more rounds if the NBA wants it to be successful like it was in the 80's/90's.

The "Street Ball" guys are better I think.
They can jump over cars, although there are probably a few guys in the NBA that can too.

nate robinson got the sympathy vote. i mean, yeah he's a freak athlete, but i mean you gotta penalize the kid for 15 attempts on the same dunk where the toss was more show than the dunk!!! IMO, they need to expand the format to 8 dunkers or something, or eliminate one each round with 4 to make it more entertaining. this whole eliminate half thing is just stupid.

that dunk by iguodala with A.I...i need a clip of that as a gif or soemthing so i can post it on here. or someoen can be awesome and find it and put it up here first :-)
