Go to the 2006 Draft Section and make the pick for Smithian! That should provide some entertainment!

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Do you have Madden? If yes, sim an entire season with a couple new free agents and use draft picks to fill needed holes. Pick up guys that would likely get signed by Washington. Guys like Randle El & Jurevicius, not guys like Wayne or Alexander. Don't make a ton of adjustments, just a few and see how the season pans out or you play the entire season (game by game) with those guys added in. It gets me pumped for the possibility of certain guys being on the team and I can usually ride that high until about the start of the NFL combine.

Also if you don't have the NFL Network get it!

Actually, to go to the SuperBowl we have to make more than a couple of brilliant moves.
We have to get another top notch WR. Thirty or forty receptions is not going to free up Moss. We need a guy who can get 70 or more. How we're going to do that is going to involve some fancy cap work.
We've got to upgrade at TE and LG on the O line and use Doc for backup. We also need another quality backup. We had no ground game with Thomas gone.
We need Broughton to come through or to get a big back to spell Portis. Portis hitting walls for short yardage means a tired Portis by playoff time. Betts is injury prone and Rock's not good enough (a sad truth).
We need another cornerback badly. Springs might not make it to the playoffs, probably won't. We need a another quality db to replace Harris. Jimoh can maybe be the fouth guy.
We need Taylor to beat the rap.
Obviously, we need a big time DE to go with Phillip. Wynn's ok as a backup. We need another quality DT. We need to keep Arrington, find a fourth and fifth LB from current group.
New FG Kicker needed. New PR.
Worse situation is probably at QB. Brunell might not make it to playoffs, Campbell unproven, Ramsey may leave. A little bad luck here and we'll be scrambling to finish out of the cellar.
In sum, there's a lot to do and little cap room to do it with. Somebody needs to get brilliant if we're going to go where we want to go.
If you're old enough...I recommend ice-cold beer. If not, maybe a part-time job.
Before you know it, BAM ! Baseball season starts, and you can root for the Yankees to buy ...(oops!) win it all !
Plus, you can maybe get CourtTV and watch the Taylor proceedings.

You have the right idea for Saunders, make the QB change. Campbell is going to get the reps. Brunel has had his chance. And for you people who say "well he was hurt" then why would a Coach not put in a quality QB to kick ass for Brunel while he was hurt. Oh well, we know that didnt happen.
The past is over, lets rock it in the future, Jason will kick some ass this year. GO JASON.......

I am very aware of the fact that we have to make more than a couple of moves and that there is even more that has to happen or go right to get to the SB, as a football fan that is pretty obvious.
However, the question was how to get threw the off-season blues until the draft.
So I suggested Madden “a video game” as a way to get threw that hump. I only suggested that a couple changes “free agent signings” be made as an example. I didn’t feel like I had to hold someone’s hand and give them a blueprint of who to sign free agent wise or who to draft. The only thing I was trying to stress was don’t go out and fill all the holes with Superstars, as that’s not going to happen in real life. The cap and many other reasons which I don’t feel I have to state because they are way to obvious prevent us from trading & signing a ton of Superstars. Yet in Madden “a video game” you can easily beef up your team in one year. This is fine and can also get you threw that hump in the off-season, but one is more realistic than the other. My personal choice is to keep it as real as a possible, for a “video game” that is!

Between 1982 and 1992, Joe Gibbs coached 4 superbowl teams.
He had 3 different running backs.
He had 3 different quarterbacks.
Gary Clark, Ricky Sanders, and Charlie Brown each played in only 2 Superbowls.
Two different Kickers played in those 4 Superbowls.
I wonder who the only "skill" player to be on all 4 rosters was? Coincidence? Only to fans who didn't watch.
