well, i would rather take a chance on robinson then on some of the others we drafted last year in the late rounds that wound up not even being on the team anymore. i would hope if he is there in the 4th or 5th round, we take a shot. and eric crouch? :lol:

comeon now, crouch was an option qb. robinson was a scrambler. plus crouch was athletic but i dont think on the same level as robinson.

I like Mike Rob and think hes more similar to Hines Ward then Randle El. Randle El is more shifty, Robinson and Ward would rather run people over and take a hit. They dont shy away from contact. Robinson was also one of the best downfield blockers ive seen while he was playing receiver his sophmore and junior years. He never quit on a play his entire time at PSU, and seemed to enjoy blocking, much like Hines Ward.

I am also curious and he might be an interesting choice in the right round of the draft.

It is better to have a young less-expensive guy instead of another more-expensive guy already in the second half of his career.

Having said that, I know Joe Gibbs likes Randle El.

I was trying post but I had to get off the floor and stop laughing from the comparison of Robinson to Eric Crouch. That is just funny. Sad, but funny. Watch about 30 seconds of Robinson the last two seasons and you would be willing to pay his salary to get him on the team. NOT as a QB but pretty much any other spot (RB, WR, SE). Just put the ball in his hands. He can also block like a fullback.

THANK YOU!!! FINALLY SOME SEEING THE LIGHT. The sad thing is that i bet a lot of teams will want the randel el type now since he is hot commodity. WHat if robinson goes in the 2nd or third

i would be suprised if he went that early especially after his bad senior bowl

As fredp reasonably reminded us,

While Robinson is a super athlete, it's a stretch to automatically assume he's another Randal El...I've seen a lot of college running QBs try their hand at other positions in the NFL and it doesn't work that often. Randel El has made the switch, no doubt.

On the other hand, we can all think of three or four guys who did very well:

- Paul Hornung

- Frank Gifford

- Tom Matte

- Brian Mitchell

All made it as RB's...and KR's, and Gifford was a fine receiver.

I wonder, also, if Rich Mirer would have been better at WR than he was at QB.

On Robinson, is he fast enough for WR? He's tall enough, and big enough to take hits, but could he shake off coverage?

Maybe, just to play at GM for a minute, the best move for the Redskins is to sign Keenan McCardell (and apologize for cutting him a dozen years ago!) to pair up with Patten at #2 WR, and draft a guy with talent who can develop.
