Koren Robinson?...Michael Lewis?

Post by kadskin »

Does anyone know much about Koren Robinson? I heard he wouldn't mind being a redskin next year (which should be said by many players cuz their's no other team better) but would fit that #2 reciever we need? And also maybe y not pick up Michael Lewis? he's not the #2 we're looking for but he fits the punt/kick return specialist. He's an upgrade to Brown, thoe i think the man's a true warrior in football and in life.

lewis is a warrior too he was delivering ups only a few years ago.

I dont think we need to pick up lewis because he cant offer anything on offense.

Robinson could contribute on ST and O, I like him better than lewis but i still dont thnk either of these guys should be a priority for the skins....maybe robinson

We already have a #2 receiver. His name is David Patton. Gotta give that shifty little guy another year at his job. IMO.
I figure... If life is all about the choices you make... Then I choose Redskin football, beer and hot wings!!

Lewis was beer truck driver. You're thinking of CLL.

Lewis and Robinson are two decent options but I'd rather wait until I get a feel for who the Skins are going to go after.

I wake up in a cold sweat with nightmares of lewis. I've only been to 2 skins games, and one of them was agasint the saints where M.Lewis returned TWO punts for TD's... As a side note, the other game was in san Diego in marty's first game as head coach.. and tim dwight i think ran back a punt for a TD. So in 2 games ive wathed 3 punt returns for TD's against the skins. Safe to say i wont be going to any games soon  .

The Wash Times article today about free agents from the Super Bowl teams included Randle-El’s stats for 2005. He caught 35 passes this year. That sort of surprised me. Particularly because we considered Patten pretty much a non-factor in the games that he played. But actually, his stats compare pretty favorably to Randle-El's.

Projecting Patten’s stats over a full 16 game season, he would have caught 40 passes for nearly 400 yards. In terms of number of catches, that’s better. Obviously Randle-El had a much higher yards per catch average. He only scored on touchdown however, so not really any big difference from Patten.

And if you compare Patten’s 2004 numbers, they exceed Randle-El’s 2005 and 2004 performance. They argument could be made that a healthy Patten is a better receiver than Randle-El.

Obviously Randle-El brings the versatility of a punt returner and can throw the ball, but I wonder whether it’s worth paying him the money he will want for those qualities.

David Patten
Year, team, games, games started, catches, yards, ave., long, TDs, 20+, 40+, First downs

2005 Washington Redskins 9 7 22 217 9.9 32 0 2 0 10

Skeletor, you're the man!

Randle El is a serviceable #2 reciever and an excellent #3 and X-factor.

He's the same type of player as Patten with some Moss like skills, not what the Skins need... they need someone to compliment Moss and Patten as the slot reciever, it'd make for a much stronger offense.

I have always wanted randle el but if patten can contribute like he has in the past i would pass on randle el for a bigger, cheaper possession receiver. I wouldn't mind bringing in Givens or Robinson.

Randle el seems like too much money for what our team needs really are.

We need Patten to step up his game and compliment moss next year!

Koren Robinson would be a great pickup, relatively cheap. I think if we sign another guy who is a tweener b/t a #2 and a #3, either he or Patten is bound to step up. Both Patten and Robinson have the ability to be huge contributors and take some major heat off of Moss. Both have deep speed and decent size, the question is who is going to actually play. If we sign one other low-dollar tweener reciever or draft one, we should be good.

I know the year before last he dropped about twice as many passes as Rod Gardner.

Sinorice Moss is definitly a great wide reciever but he's not a big target that we might want. I mean he's only 5'8" 182 pounds. But if there was no one left I think Sinorice is a good pick up.

Say we get another WR and Brunnel is our QB -- he doesn't look at anyone but Moss and Cooley (Portis once in a great while).

He looks for Moss and Cooley and if he's getting pressured he'll throw a perfect lob pass to E. Byner standing on the sideline. I don't see him going through his options after Moss and Cooley.

You're right, Mark Brunell is a hack... he has always only looked to one reciever!!

Like Jimmy Smith... wait, Ernest Givins, Keenan McCardell, Pete Mitchell, Fred Taylor, James Stewart, Kyle Brady, and Bobby Shaw all had many receptions with Brunell at QB...

I guess he spread the ball out a little after all...

robinson would be great here, givens and lyyold would also kick it.we at least need a wr that is red zone factor ie (big). and to have one that is big and fast would great.but ultimatley it will come down to the cap total, contract restructers and releases.if we could swing clements cb g s hutchison , k robinson , vanderjagt and kaupman de and some young blood like trapp from tech and we could be in great shape.well, dreams do come true, sometimes.

OK, so I know this won't be the deciding factor in whether or not we persue Koren Robinson, but did anyone else watch the Pro Bowl skills challenges today?

Well Koren Robinson was doing one of the challenges, and of course he dropped a ridiculously easy 10 yard lob.

Now I know this was just some stupid competition, but how can a pro drop such an easy pass!?

Everyone knows this guy has a record of dropped passes, and I think it's due mainly to lack of concentration.

I have never really been a Robinson supporter, and I would much rather go after Lloyd, Givens, and of course Randle El instead of Robinson.
