Senior Bowl Thread

Post by The Hogster »

Im watching the Senior Bowl and straight off the bat the guys who are impressive are Sinorice Moss, Tamba Hali and the TE Byrd from USC.

It's still early, but I would love to draft all these guys...if we only had 3 1st round picks.

Draft Sinorice Moss. Get a DE in Free Agency...this guy is a playmaker. It would be great to have Moss on both sides of the field.

Yeah he plays almost exactly like Santana, using his speed and quickness in the open field.

They also said that he does a very good job with the WR screen which is another Santana trait.

I wish he would fall to mid-2nd round, but I doubt he will.

Croyle said on the sidelines that the wind took that ball and carried it long, but Moss kicked into his passing gear and caught up to it. Great in-flight adjustments, just like big brother. Of course, that's likely why Senorice would rather play on any other team in the league, (well, maybe not the Jets).

He was awesome in the practices as well, he's doing so well this week that I don't think we're even going to have a chance to draft him.

Drafting 52nd it might be easier to get "Randy" for the other side. :D

Especially with the year that Santana and Steve Smith had, this guy will be gone in the first round. Would be pretty cool to have them both though.

That play referred to in this thread where Sinorice accelerated to the drop-spot of the ball... not being a tall guy, why would he want to get to the landing spot of the ball as fast as possible? His speed is definitely impressive, but you laud him to easily for using his speed to get to the spot. He's never going to be taller than the CBs he's going up against. He needs to use his speed to his advantage. On that route, he needed to check the angle of the ball, run 3/4 speed to keep the CB close to him, and then accelerate through the catch and score. As it was, he was just there waiting and got tackled at the spot of the catch.

Are you referring to the touchdown catch?

I think you must be thinking of a different play. Moss caught the ball in the back of the end zone with about 10 yards between he and the defender.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Sinorice is the next Jerry Rice, but you have to give him props for that catch.

The TD catch was good. I was referring to a first down catch he had around midfield. It could have been a 30 or 40-yd catch. I am nitpicking - I know. It just drove me nuts to hear the commentators hailing him for this "great" midfield catch and his speed when it could have been so much more.

The end zone catch was very good. You're absolutely right.
