Gene Upshaw said that if there is no salary cap in 2007, it will never come back.

You can take that to the bank

This would kill the progress we've made. The league would lock the players out and it would end up like hockey did. Of course the NFL is much more popular, so it would end a lot quicker, but still...
and Seattle would be the Yankees and we would be Boston.
Paul Allen anyone?

Lockout would definitely come before there is a capless season. Jerry Jones, Danny, Paul Allen, etc are a minority when it comes to ownership. Most teams are owned by frugal business familes that want to make all the money and use it to fund their legacies rather than spend it on putting a winning product on the field.

Champions.....I wish!
Skankees haven't won a championship the last 5 years.
You can't win every year & even if we never won again they're still the best francise in MLB! 26 time World Series Champions.....No team will ever get close to that record (in any sport)!
BTW, how many Championships does you're team have & when was the last time they won?

This is a Redskin board. Take your Yankee drivel elsewhere.

Juventus of the Italian soccer league Serie A has won 27 league titles
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

Well said Hogster! This is why I love having Snyder as an ownwer. They can say what they want about him but at least he takes the money he earns off the team and re-invests it back into the team. As a fan, you gotta like that in an owner.

You're kidding, right ?
Don't worry about it too much. Hogster is right. There's no way to slip this one past the quote-unquote smaller market teams, so long as they have a vote.

I didn't bring them up & I'll defend my team on any board (when someone make a STUPID comment for no reason)....BTW, you're not a moderator, so mind your own business, if you didn't like what I said don't respond!!!!!

No offense, but you're not a moderator either, as evidenced by the fact that you're suggesting that a post be moderated when there's nothing wrong with it.
There are no personal attacks involved, and someone is just as entitled to the opinion that a post in Hog Wash should pertain to the Redskins and not the yankees, as you are to the opinion and stance that you should defend those yankees.
However... being that this thread is about the uncapped year of 2007... neither thing has much to do with the Redskins or the cap do they?
As for the actual thread topic... I have explained/discussed/opined what the uncapped year will mean ad nauseum over the last year or so. Personally, I don't think the league will EVER play without a cap.

Redskins will be the next Yankees
Today I was watching Sportscenter and (Tweety Bird) John Clayton mentioned the possibility of the NFL not having a salary cap might be reality and if it happened the Redskins would be the next New York Yankees of football. I Think he is right, if it did happen.
DON'T SING IT! BRING IT!
