"It's different to say, 'If we had Michael Vick or Daunte Culpepper or Steve McNair or Byron Leftwich," McNabb said of four black starting quarterbacks. "But to go straight to Brett Favre, tht kind of just slapped me in the face like, wow..."
So, let me understand this. McNabb wasn't offended because T.O. said there was another superior QB out there? That is why I always thought this comment irked him. Now, I realize he was offended because the superior QB T.O. named was white and not black?!?!?!
What a load of crap.

I think your right McNabb is also a jack-ass. We're never gonna hear the end of their break-up, just like Kobe and Shaq the media will always talk about it.
this is a never ending soap opera and the media is playin along.both of them are at fault for carrying this on and on for way too long.
all i can really say is get over it and move on .....

This is exactly what you said. A load of crap.
My wife had a few run-ins with mcnabb when she lived in jersey, she said he was rude and obnoxious.... I told her he seemed to me to sound like a nice or smart guy from the interviews. From what I see here, I guess I was wrong.
Don't matter where you are.... YOU'RE IN REDSKINS COUNTRY!

Yeah but Kobe and Shaq arent mouthing off in the media like that anymore.
You also have to look at the context of what he said...also let's not forget McNabb has been attacked for his race a few times bt Limbaugh and the NAACP...This guy is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. One minute he not a leader and won't speak up...the next he's playing the race card.

Not to defend limbaugh (not a listener of his) but I watched that show and his attack was at the news media for trying to pump up his image becasue he was a black QB. He didn't attack him for being black. He attacked the news media for what he felt was their largely cheerleader-like coverage of him b/c he is a black QB.
I could be wrong though, but this is what I remember from that whole bru-ha-ha.
But I agree - McNabb has been in the middle of too many controversies that aren't of his making. Poor guy.
1)Brett Favre isn't a superior QB to McNabb nowadays. In his prime, he was the best in the league. Now, he's pathetic (Show me someone else who constantly makes boneheaded plays like throwing the ball PAST the LOS and gets a pass on it - "That's funny stuff by Brett Favre" ). THAT'S really why McNabb should have got offended; Farve sucks now.
2)This backlash and the subsequent stuff coming out further proves my own theory that the Eagles lockeroom has been completely and utterly divided and it will go into next season. Once again the NFC East is going to be a three team race and Philly won't be one of them.
Thanks, TO
