Prediction: Lavar in 2006 pro-bowl

Post by WshSkins22 »

Yeah I said it. I've never made a prediction, and im not a person who usually makes them. But I have a VERY strong feeling about this. Theres a phrase somewhere, that says you can't keep the great ones down.

First of all, forget about cutting him, because it would be much smarter for him to restructure, so I dont want his future of being here a factor. Lets assume for this case that he will be a redskins. I believe he will be a pro-bowler because obviously he has the natural talent. He got hurt in 2004, making the 2005 offseason nothing but a rehab session. As you know, when a person is rehabbing, they cannot work out at a high level(NFL level). He claims he was playing at a higher weight, which is explainable. Playing at a higher weight for a person who is accustomed to being very quick and agile, can be a hard adjustment.

I also know that Lavar hates this right now. Think about it, hes used to being"Mr. Redskin", and the best player on the team. Being in the shadow os such talented players, will make him work harder to become the once highly touted player he was.

And finally, he is a big-name player, which the pro-bowl is crazy for. That is one reason I hate the Pro-Bowl selection process. Lets face it though, a big name like Lavar with an above average season equals pro-bowl.

Glad you said that, will keep it on topic.

But I think he will be in it... I really think he's back and ready to be "Mr. REDSKIN" again. He clearly has the ability and I really feel he can adapt the scheme better now after seeing how GW works.

Punu, it showed the Pats beating the Redskins on Family Guy, even though when was the last time the Pats beat the Skins?

I love Lavar as much as you guys but I think thats wishfull thinking. He should have a good season, I hope he gives 100% all the time and he might make it but I do feel it's a little wishfull thinking.

Yeah but it's one of my fav shows and im such a SKINS maniac was just excited to see them on there!

I think the last time they beat us was 1971. Oh and Peter scored 6 on a run... so it was just 6 nothing, im sure we came back. :D

If he keeps on getting subbed out on 3rd down, I just dont see him making it....but if he can be on the field for every down, then I have no doubt we will see him in Hawaii, and Miami as well!!!

I think the thing that's kept him off the field on 3rd down is his lack of versatility. He absolutely can't cover. I don't if he's slowed down that much or what. They can hide him a little when he drops back in a zone, but if he gets isolated on a back or tight end, he's useless. problem was Holdman can't cover either. That's why they opted to bring in an extra safety instead in those situations. Surprisingly Marshall did a pretty good job when he was isolated.

Lavar would probably be best as strictly a pass rushing DE on 3rd down at this point, but he's never really shown a lot in that situation either. That's why I think Williams will stick to what he's been doing rotate a lot of different looks in those situations.... Meaning Arrington continues to get pine time on 3rd down...

not to stir the pot to much ....but what has he done for us ??? :hmm:
he is a freelancer linebacker, meaning let him lose on the QB or RB and he will make some plays but to me he is and was overrated coming uot of penn state i mean comparing him to #56 LT is just not fair to him to begin with.
having said all that i like him alot but hopefully he stays healthy and plays with within the sceme.

I have no doubts in my mind that Lavar will have a spectacular season, especially in contrast to whats he's been able to do recently. Going into the offseason at 100% will allow him to be prepared for the season.

Im not so sure if Lavar making the probowl on anything else but his name and the fact that he's popular. I say that because Marcus deserved the be in it and got snubbed, if Lavar had those same stats he would have made it.

Not so much a gripe on Lavar but moreso on the selection system.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!
