Here We Go Again...
I keep reading snippets here and there about how we're overpaying the coaching staff and raising the bar for assistant's salaries. Here's the latest.

This time, they have Snyder conspiring against smaller market teams.
What gives ?

Wow, that is irresponsible "journalism" or whatever they would call that. What it bothersome is that it's connected to jaguars.com that guy is a senior editor for their official site, which makes him a representative of their team.
What kind of employee can accuse other franchises of conspiracy and not have anything to worry about?
He sounds paranoid.

Philip from Woodmere, NY: Do you think it's possible the Redskins are making a mess of the salary cap because they know there's not going to be a salary cap after 2009 and they just don't care, being that's exactly what Daniel Snyder wants to do?
Vic: That's not it. There's no advantage to that kind of strategy because between now and '09 the Redskins are screwed and nobody can push money out beyond '09 anyhow. I think they got careless with their cap because they believed a CBA extension would get done and they could re-structure contracts and push money out and keep out-running the cap because large-market teams such as themselves would just keep driving the cap figure higher and higher. I think their philosophy was similar to those people who believe the national debt is an insignificant concern; just keep pushing money into the future, right? Well, unless there's a CBA extension, the future ends in '09 and the Redskins are out of years from which to borrow.

Any 2-bit fool can spout their mouth off - freedom of the press. But where is the accountability?
I think other teams have seeem the Skins sucess this year, the changes we've made thus far in the off season and are scarred that we will become a juggernaut for years to come. They can't compete so they call us names.

Vic: What the Redskins are doing is what a deep-pockets corporation would do to competitors of lesser financial means. The Redskins are skyrocketing the value of assistant coaches, which will have a trickle-down effect that will be passed on to all of the teams in the league who don't have the kind of money the Redskins have. I'm starting to think the Redskins are doing this intentionally. I'm starting to think this might be a conspiracy against small-market teams.

Conspiracy???? That is freakin great!!! At first I thought he was just kidding, but when I read on I realized he was serious! Danny Boy is pissing off more journalist now! I love it when he pisses them off! Its hilarious!

Unless China gets the urge to cash in their IOUs.

Hmm. A conspiracy of one.

My favorite part of the big market v.s. little market conspiracy is that there is no proof of it on the field.
I mean if big market teams could choke out small market teams then why would the Jets not be in the superbowl every year? Why would Chicago be such a surprise this year? And why wouldn't Snyders free wheeling spending have been successful back in the Spurrier days? Why is it that GreenBay and Indy are (usually) constant competetitors. Why is it that the Steelers have been perrenial playoff teams, when Dallas and San Fran can't sniff the playoffs?

We are over paying our coaches. I just hope it works this time.

Hey, stranger !
I don't know if you can overpay guys like the guys we're picking up. Why the heck not, anyway ? There's third year players that never come in except for special teams that make more that the highest paid asistant on most teams, I'll bet. For Williams, Saunders, Bugel...man...how much would be too much ?
