Why Campell someday will be a great skin!!!Mobility and the way he "flips" his wrist throwing, the ball goes flying down the field with accuracy for a fourty yard bomb!!!I have been watching clips on the guy and I can see why Gibb's wanted him!!!
Next year we win the super bowl with Brunell and he retires, then we see Campell in action!!!

Brunell did a good job this year ... better than I thought he would. He started great but towards the end of the season he was dragging. I think his age is catching up with him. It takes him longer to recover from games/injuries. Granted, Patten went out and then Moss got doubled up most of the time. The big plays weren't there much.

I don't think that B is the answer for all season. Start JC let him flub a game or tow early - then he should settle down. With our strong running game and the threat of our passing game (I'm assuming we're going to add a quality WR in the off season) that will ease the pressure on JC.

The main thing to keep Brunell playing well next year is firming up the line and protecting him. If Portis can pound the ball 25-28 times a game and gain yardage, Brunell will only have to pass 15-20 times.
The Skins can win with Brunell, but it will likely be like the Ravens in 2000 with Dilfer at the helm...they won most of their games 13-10, with great D and a QB who wasnt great, and protected the ball.
Just beat Dallas - they are A-H****

The question becomes at what point are you stunting Campbell's development? How well served will he be by a second year on the bench?

I saw Dan forks over the cash for a ground breaking surgery that removes Mark Brunell's head and places it on Patrick Ramsey's body. We can do it. We have the technology.

Cambell has game! the physical ability is not a question. The question is mentally can he handel the speed and pressure and decision making of the NFL. That, on one knows.

That will come with time. He has the intangible stuff that can't be taught and that Patrick never had. Jason showed that he his a good feel for the pocket around him. He can sense when its starting to close, he can feel the impending hit and can avoid the rush. Patrick couldn't feel a Mack truck bearing down on him, he'd just sit there and take the hit.

From http://washingtontimes.com/sports/20060 ... -1593r.htm:

That was probably the biggest difference between the two teams: The Seahawks had a quarterback capable of taking "the game in his hands," and the Redskins didn't. Like the Bucs the week before, the 'Hawks stacked eight defenders near the line of scrimmage -- making life awfully tough for Clinton Portis (17 carries, 41 yards) -- and dared Brunell to beat them. He couldn't.

Brunell still has a lot to offer - as a backup. Its time to bring on JC.

Its pretty much summed up here:

I think it's crazy to go through the growing pains of starting a rookie QB when we're a playoff caliber team already! When you have only one good receiver on the field (Taylor Jacobs sucks, in case you haven't noticed) a good D is gonna make your life difficult, just ask Jake Delhomme. Brunell didn't play well in the playoffs but he went against 2 top flight defenses. Tampa Bay was #1 in the league and Seattle's defense lead the league in a bunch of stats, including takeaways. If we can restructure some contracts, we can get either another decent recevier and the problem will be solved.

My goodness! The man ONLY had ONE WR TO FREAKING THROW THE BALL TO!!! ONE! ONE! ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sea had 3 WR's who were catching the ball decent. IF Brunell had a full compliment of WR's he could have won the game also.

Hasselback didn't do squat other than his job and that was to throw the ball. Someone still has to run the route, get open and catch the ball! How many people on our roster can do that? ONE! They had THREE! We had 3 peolpe to cover, they had ONE.

Okay, so Campbell's legs, Brunell's head, and Ramsey's arm. Sounds good.

Except that our backup QB will be made out of Ramsey's legs, Brunell's arm, and Campbell's head.

Let's just hope Patrark Campnell doesn't get injured and force us to bring in Jasick Bruney. Things would start to get ugly at that point.

I thought Marvin Lewis was crazy to bench Kitna after he had a very good season... Lewis went with the 2nd year qb carson palmer... when he was benched Kitna had more promise than Brunell... the question is does Campbell have the promise of Carson Palmer..

I hope Campbell can be as good as Palmer....

Do you guys think Gibbs has the sack to make the Marvin Lewis call... ?

Did Gibbs have the sac to stick with Brunell? Gibbs will go with the quarterback that will help the redskins win the most games. Any decision he makes, in my mind, is the right decision.

Exactly! He showed his sack when he told all the fans, the media, and the so called experts "Screw yall! Ramsey sucks and Brunell is gonna start again!"

Jason and the Argonauts

Post by tbowden64 »

Come on guys, Brunell is not going to win us a SB. I would love for us to be in the big game next week. But, Brunell cold not do it. Santana made Mark this year. You talk about Ramsey holding the ball, look at how long Mark held it, and how many THROW AWAYS he had. He threw the ball away more than any QB in the league. Even David Patton bitched about always going to Moss. He is not the guy for us. Hey Mark is a great person, even Ramsey loves him. I like the guy, Personally. But, getting us to the promise land, Im sorry, we need to see what Jason has. Patrick will go to another team with a gunslinger mentality and kick ass. Mark my words, (no pun intended). But, Jason will be the man this year. Al Saunders does not throw hitches and little outs. This coach throws the ball down field which we all know Brunell cant do. Mark Brunel will not be the guy next year for the whole season, he has shown us that...

Go Jason

Post by tbowden64 »

With the addition of Saunders as our offensive guru, we can relish the coming out party of the (Reason why we dont have a 1st rouder this year) Jason Cambell explosion at QB. Gibbs said he could play the latter part of this year. With that, lets go...The guy has the physical skills, he's tall, mobile, and can throw. We as fans can appreciate the fact that we gave up alot for this guy. So let it roll. I feel good about Gibbs decision, it was more than I wouldve given up for him, but hey, Im not a HOF coach. Go Jason....Lets kick some ass. And lets go back to the 91 season, where Ryp ripped it up. Throwing the rock all over the place. We as fans need some passing again. NOT just little short stuff. GO JC...
