I get you. Lamped up, hyped, amped, Jacked, Crunk.

Or as Joe Gibbs called it on comcast getting your "Burr On."

(for the slang impaired he is talking about being excited)

And I could not agree more.

When you look at KC's offense and ours there are a lot of similarities.

We both have great RB's.

They have a great OL we have a good one.

They have a great TE. We have a very good H-Back who is on the way to being great.

They have a FB who lays punishing blacks. We have an H-Back/ Full Back who lays punishing blocks.

The only concern I had was Santana Moss. The cheifs never really had a great receiver will he struggle because iof this?

So I did a little research and discovered that he was the Rams receivers coach back in the greatest show on turf super bowl year.

S.Moss' numbers migh get better.

If we add a #2 receiver we migh be unstoppable.

Snyder is starting to make the right moves. Let's hope he keeps it up and it's contagious.

I'm not turning my back on their fullback, that's for sure.

Couldn't resist. An absolutely fantastic hire - same terminology, same scheme, different accents. It's a great day to be a 'Skins fan - of course, every day is!

only Tony Richardson, but I doubt you guys need a FB.

Also, I think backup QB Todd Collins is...

Hey, not bad. Is he any good? Maybe we can ship Ramsey off and get someone in here who already knows the system to be our third stringer. It might be a reasonable idea.

Saunders and Gibbs and Air Coryell. The background is there for a great working relationship.
Three former HC's on the staff.
Incredible.

Yes ive heard of that, but not worried. Gibbs obviously is not an egotistical guy. Hes not worried about having complete control. Greg williams worries about Defense. And Al is obviously going to focus on offense. When "chiefs" dont have specified roles that they are comfortable and content with.. thats when you have problems.

Now, all we have to do is get Al some more soldiers to go to war with, and to get the existing infantry healthy.
One thing is for sure. He won't have to see Portis hefting the belt against him anymore. :)

un-freaking-believeable!!!

I truly cannot believe Snyder/Gibbs pulled this one off. I mean, I have complete faith in Gibbs, but it still amazes me when he gets guys to come here who could very easily become HCs somewhere else. I mean, come on. It's a given that GW takes over as HC when Gibbs retires. There's a clause in his contract that he gets an extra 1 mil if he doesn't get it when Gibbs goes. How do you convince another highly sought after guy to come here when the future HC job is already taken? Amazing...

I already have us pegged for 2 Superbowls in the next 3 years. This just makes me wanna think we have a threepeat coming up ;-)

If Jason Campbell is half the QB I think he is, we are in for a very fun, very long ride and it all started this season.

I just learned the news as I am coming back to Canada. I am as thrilled as all of you. Some of you give Dan Snyder credit for this choice. I do not. I give credit to Joe for acknowledging a shortcoming and addressing it. I give credit to Snyder for following Joe's recommendation and putting the money to make it possible.

Joe is likely to delegate to Saunders as much as he delegates to G. Williams. It will be fascinating how:

1) the quarter back situation works out now that Saunders will have a fresh look at our three QBs; and

2) How Musgrave fits in with the new scheme.

I and others love Buges for not showing an ego under these circumstances. Joe is not only acting as a great Headcoach but even more importantly as a FANTASTIC President of the organization for years to come.

This is the most important addition to our team this year. A great system is more important than great individual efforts.

Thanks Joe!

I can't believe Snyder is making all the right moves. With Gibbs back Snyder knows to listen and to do what Gibbs wants. Foxsports was reporting that some of the cheaper NFL owners (i.e. Bob Kraft) will start trying to get a salary cap for coaches. Snyder is spending the money wisely, I love it. Hail to Gibbs and props to Snyder.

Before eveyone gets a little to excited about our coaches and thinks it's automatic that we win, easy up! Players still have to play and make the plays, give 100% all the time and beleive in the system. That said, Being succesfull and winning all starts at the top. It's a trickel down effect, In ANY bussines you start at the top. It is not like a house or a building, the foundation starts with ownership. Then trickels down to board members and directors then to general mgrs and regular mgrs and then you have your employees. It has takin Synder a while to relize that but he understands the principle and is doing it.

My only worry is

Post by gspdark1 »

The only thing that bugs me is that I hope the two sides of the ball don't become too autonomous, meaning there's no team cohesion. Like, ok, you're defense and I'm offense. I hope Joe Gibbs the team together and thinking like one cohesive unit.

It's funny, by my count we have four former HCs on this staff - Gibbs, Buges, Williams, and Saunders. This has to be by far the most qualified and experienced staff in the league!

We also have former Coordinators as Assistants. It's like an All-Star staff.

After talking with a friend of mind in KC last night I’ve concluded Saunders has to be one of the smartest men in American. I guess KC had basically given him the same deal as GW…come coach here with Vermiel as when he retires the job is yours. I think most men would love a shot at coaching in the same division as the team that betrayed them. Instead of taking a dead-end job in Oakland he jump at the chance to coach here.

Of course two million a year may have had something to do with it??

Any word as to whether Gibbs will retain the Team President role after he's done as coach?

The reason I ask is that Snyder's M.O. with Gibbs should be his M.O. after Gibbs.

Also, you think any NFL team will ever take the step to actually call it as it is and designate one guy as "Co-Head Coach - Offense" and one as "Co-Head Coach - Defense"?

Or, is it still necessary to have one coach at the head of the organization to be the final say on everything?

So what is gonna be the structure? I am thrilled about this addition, but Skins just announced that all other staff members will retain their titles, so what does that mean?

Is he gonna be able to make personell decisions or is he gonna be a 'consultant' like Fassell was in Baltimore?

Either way, I am extremely happy.
