I'm sure he's doing backflips. If Williams had an offensive guy like Saunders in Buffalo, he would probably still be the coach up there.

That was a great signing! He will bring a bunch to the offense, We are going to have a very scary team next year. Every team will respect and fear the Skins on their schedule in 06.

so does this mean that Gibbs would be giving up play calling? it deffinately looks like Gibbs and Williams are setting up for the post Gibbs area (part II). I also think that KC runs more Portis friendly type runs (ie streatchs and pitches)

I think that Saunders is excited too, he can learn how to be an NFL head coach from the master...

Then when the Herm Edwards experiment fails the Chiefs can hire him as thier HC!

2002: 4th (yards) 1st (points)
2001: 7th (yards) 16th (points)

For comparison, Washington's finish:

2005: 11th (yards) 13th (points)
2004: 30th (yards) 31st (points)
2003: 23rd (yards) 22nd (points)
2002: 20th (yards) 25th (points)
2001: 30th (yards) 28th (points)

Does KC have any guys that are turning FA who might want to follow him to DC? lol

This is GREAT news!

We now have a Head Coach who is one of the greatest of all time, and coordinators on both sides of the ball who were being considered for head jobs this offseason.

Not to mention a host of other great assistants like Bugel and Blache.

We have, bar none, the best coaching staff in the NFL.

This is another example of Dan Snyder getting it done big time for our football team. Not many owners would be willing to pay multi million dollar contracts to 3 coaches at the same time. Way to go, Mr. Snyder!

Is this a lateral move for saunders? If it is and he's under contract, KC will get some compensation.
They'll probably have to call him Asst HC Offense and maybe take that title away from Buges.

I'm wondering whether there's even the slightest chance that Bugel, Breaux and Burns might just be stepping aside NOW to allow the Williams-Saunders tandem to be at the top of their respective sides for a full year before anything permanent taking effect.

I do see Musgrave and Byner being part of the "new" offensive staff, though.

I would like to see Bugel stay as a transitional O-line coach for another year.

Kansas City Offensive Free Agents:

QB Damon Huard
QB Todd Collins
FB Tony Richardson
WR Marc Boerigter
WR Chris Horn
TE Kendall Gammon (really a long-snapper)
OT Jordan Black

Three years, $7.8 million. Most lucrative contract for an assistant coach ever. Wow.

Wow, KC-like offense with GW's defense, with Gibbs as the head guy. Of course Bugel's still needs to be in charge of the O-Line. This is clearly the most expensive coaching staff, but we got an owner who can pick up the check.

This is how great it feels to have a Guy like Gibbs leading the way.

I think he will honor his contract, but I think he wants to oversee things as a true head coach.

He is also team president, so this may be the way of allowing Gibbs to coach the TEAM as a whole, and be active in bringing in players and letting capable people coach positions and other units.

I still think Gibbs honors his contract, but we may see a lot less of Burns.

Bugel is basically the O-Line Coach so it's not like he's getting demoted or anything.

DANIEL SNYDER IS THE BEST!!
