I know it's a bit late to be joining a Game Day thread, but please forgive for not actually sitting at my keyboard at 12:40am, when the Redskins' season ended. I listened until the bitter end, and really didn't have anything to say at that time of the night!

I don't intend to say anything in this thread about what we need for next year, what went wrong this year, and why we lost last night. All I want to say here is just how proud I am of this Redskins team. Even as their season ended, the team was still in there swinging and fighting. They were outplayed, but surrender was not on their minds, and they played with heart and tenacity. All season long, this team worked and fought and scrapped for everything (ignoring the Giants debacle).

Disappointed? Of course. But disappointemnt only comes when you have started to believe that the Redskins can achieve even more than they have. But, in all honesty, Joe Gibbs has squeezed every last drop out of this team, and taken it further than ANY other coach in the NFL could have.

Thank you Joe.

So, I suggest that if any of you feel down at any point in the next three weeks while other teams play for the Superbowl, just think of what has been achieved by your team. Shoulders back, chest out, chin up, upper lip well and truly stiff. Take a deep breath, then smile to yourself, and repeat after me:

"Hail to the Redskins!"

Exactly how I feel. I've been angry all night because I never want to go to the playoffs and lose but I will always be proud of this season we've had.

You both have been great and very classy supporters.

We have come a long way towards the ultimate goal. It's still not a good feeling to lose in the playoffs but we were there! We also won a game I thought we would lose and came close in a game against a team I felt we matched up well against.

I firmly believe we were that close to the Super Bowl - Seattle cannot beat either of these teams - we could!

Thank you all - we had a great ride! I'm looking forward to an interesting offseason as Gibbs and Williams address our needs. I think we are now only a couple of players away and so much closer than we were this time last year.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

And now for a more positive post...

This has been a great year that leaves me with hope and confidence for the upcoming season. The Redskins are a force in the NFL once again. I can be a proud rather than defiant fan up here in Beantown, carrying the banner without excuse or apology.

One great part? We finished at the same position as the Patriots (actually, with one more win ) . That might not seem like much to those of you not in this area, but for me its pretty big. I will have fun nonchalantly working that into the conversation.

Hail Redskins!!

This was a great season and I can't wait until next year.

Highlights for me:

1. The dallas game in Dallas, that was sweet.

2. The dallas game at home, sitting next to a cowboys fan...

3. After waiting 13 years (half of my life, lol), I got my season tickets. I've begun working on my travel budget for next fall.

Question: Do they send out a letter to current season ticket holders at some point to renew our tickets or can I just call them up and renew them now?

and this is a great site, I wish I had found it earlier.

Great season. Solid improvement. This is a genuine Joe Gibbs team. Air-hog said
I told my friends, sure I'm sad, but you got to look at it like "the glass is half full"

I'll go a little farther and say that the glass is more than 80% full.

We've seen a few positions the team needs to fill -- a tall fast WR, a second small fast WR, a pass rushing DE, and more depth at OL. Fix WR and no defense can simultaneously pack in close and smother-cover Moss.

More important than what little the team lacks is what they have acquired: winning spirit.

Hail to the Redskins
Hail victory.

Again and again.

Thanks for the compliment SkinsJock.

We did have a good year and now it's time to move on. We'll do fine next year. I feel it in my bones.

Great season. I had a lot of fun this year. No complaints.
