Burning Questions
First off... great season.. more than I, and allot of people expected.
1. Is the Redskins offense so one dimesional that you just stack the box with 8 men and you render them ineffective?
2. Is Taylor Jacobs really a Redskin receiver? At times he was so closely covered I couldnt tell his jersey color..
3. How many times can the Seattle Offensive linemen hold in one game and not get called for it? At least 6 that I counted.
4. This was the 18th Redskin game of the year. Can Mark Brunell go 19 or 20 next year?
5. Before the missed field goal in the 4th quarter, it was 4th and 4 with 8 minutes to go, down 17-10, should they have gone for it? YES!!!! (Easy to say with hindsight, of course).
6. What do the Skins need next year? The D is great... but a solid pass rushing DE would be great. The O, obviously needs one more solid receiving threat and maybe an interior lineman to beef up the corps.
Just a few complaints and one thing more: Skins will win Superbowl 41!!!!

In my humble opinion, I think the big need for the Redskins is an offense. They need another receiver to complement Moss. Right now, oposing team defenses have 4 on the line, add a linebacker, 2 or 3 to cover Moss, 1 or 2 to cover
ey, stack one to take care of Portis. If Patten or Thrash are in, back one to cover him. If Jacobs in, don't worry, he will find a way to cover himself so he doesn't make a catch
I truly believe that one good WR will make all of the difference in the world in the offense.

GREAT attitude..anyway, i agree with you about going for it. I was watching the game with a Seahawk buddy and he agreed with me too. What good was 3 points at that point?
As far as holding, I didn't count, but thay last pass to Moss was a PI penalty all the way. Again, my Seahawk buddy agreed. And what about that mysterious illegal formation penalty? What a bunch of crap!
I was happy for him and his team to make it over a BIG hump, but really thought we'd win...cost me some $$ too
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

I'm not worried one bit!!Gibbs will not give up on making the changes to the offense!!I see the team getting two more good offensive line men and going for another reciever and if they can't resign betts another good running back, but I have a feeling if any way possible betts will be back!!!
RG3....Super Man....check out my socks!!!
I think we'll be okay next season with everyone healthy. The pass rush from the line has been pretty good the last couple games, so I really don't think a DE is the biggest need. I think the team desperately needs to get the young O-linemen up to speed and draft another. Our backup was 43 years old, and you saw how our depth looked after that.
We won't go after another running back if Betts leaves. We still have Broughton and the coaches seem to like him. I can't wait to see him play more!
Next year is going to be fun.

you make a good point about Nemo, i forgot he existed! plus cartwright has shown himself to be a quality backup.
i disagree immensely about the pass rush though. matt hasselbeck was dropping back in the pocket, building a house, getting a phone line installed, ordering a pizza, getting 3 bucks off 'cause it took longer than a half hour, eating dinner, tucking his kids in, watching Conan O'Brien, and then throwing a pass. it was completely ridiculous. it's just way, way too easy for a decent NFL QB to find an open man with so much time. if we had a good pass-rusher, we would force like 300 turnovers a game!
i also agree about the o-line, something isn't right there. we need to get better. today's performance was an utter embarassment, after a year where they certainly improved, yet still vastly underacheived expectations.

Yeah i think your probably right... Being that hes under contract and all. I agree with the holding calls also, I wouldnt say it lost them the game, but There were 2 or 3 times i thought Seattle clearly held. We just need homefield for next year.
1. I'd like to say no, but the last three games we have looked pretty one-dimensional. I think it all has to do with injuries however. Brunell is not the same QB is he has a leg injury. With Patten and Thrash out our other reciever options are Jacobs and Farris. No one to take pressure off Moss.
2. Jacobs has been a huge disappointment.
3. No Comment
4. I think that Brunell will be our starter next year, but I don't think that he can go 20 games. Better pass protection, a late bye week, and homefield advantage would certainly help though.
5. I can't wait to read TMQ this week. It will say, "WHY ARE YOU PUNTING!"
6. I think you are dead on. We need two more D-linemen, one has to be a passrushing DE. We need a number two reciever, a TE, and Depth all around, but particulalry on the O-line. The loss of Brown is bigger that most people probably realize.

Well I guess the seahawks all pro offensive line can hold 6 times without getting caught, maybe you should try out for referee college, and go ref for the skinz. But then you would learn that what you thought was holding is just offensive line work like you've never seen before, you guys knew you were up against the best oline in the NFL with 3 starting in the probowl. Don't complain that the game was fixed, because if it was, the redskins most assuredly would have won the game, or is coach Gibbs the new kick around guy in the NFL?

Dude- Seattle is a great team and beat the Skins fair and square. The game was not fixed and I didnt mean to imply it was - This was just football, sometimes you get the call, sometimes you dont. And dont play that card where you say it was good o-line playing... they held and got away with it. The skins held too.. but not nearly as much.
The Hawks were the better team yesterday and more power to them. Not bad for the 1st playoff win in 21 years.
I am proud of my Skins. They played a great game, Defensively, and with a few additions next year, they will be allot better.
