1st Congrats / Then John Hall

Post by The Hogster »

Redskins had a great season, but John Hall is a bum always has been for us. When will someone step up and admit he is a BUST.

We played a decent game, but just didn't have enough Red Zone Offense to win, but Hall missing a 36yard kick and kicking off to the 15 is TERRIBLE.

Great game by everyone else though. I'm a positive guy, so don't give me that, but this hurts...he can't miss those kicks.

I told you Hall was a bum.

Good game guys. I thought you guys had a serious advantage when Alexander went down.

Great season for the skins. You guys have a good team for the future.

In the third quarter the Redskins had the ball around the Seahwaks 33 yard line or so - And they opted to go for it on 4th and 12 or 4th and 17? I'm fuzzy on the specifics, but a good football team should have a kicker who has the potential to kick field goals longer than 45 yards. Maybe this was because Hall is still struggling with his season-long injuries. He made some good kicks for the Redskins this year, but I too am unsure if he's the long-term answer. Gibbs knows.

I do remember after the whole Jetskins thing the one jets fan (think it was smizzy) did tell us before long we would be closing our eyes every time he attempted a kick... I like his toughness and especially how he recovered that one fumble but kickers are here for one thing, to kick the ball off, and kick it in between the uprights no matter what the situation or yardage.

he has not done well at either of those really, especially at the worst possible moments, same for frost (losing tupa really hurt... he punted so well for us last year and he wouldve made a huge difference thinking back on this year).

We cant have kickers and punters who hurt us more than help us, period.

Yeah yeah yeah. All I can say is it has been an awesome season. I have nothing but pride and respect for this team right now. Nobody expected us to come this far, but Coach Gibbs showed the team (and the owner) how it has to happen.

And Coach Williams helped make it so!!!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON!!!! GO SKINS!!!

It's just not his FGs. It's his kickoffs also. Every team gets great field position because of his short kicks. I think Vegas paid him off so he wouldn't hurt the 9.5 point spread.

Very true, he used to be known around here early in Spurriers second season for his leg strength and after the last couple seasons i think thats been completely depleted due to injuries.

We will probably keep him into camp and bring in a young kicker to challenge Hall for the job so if he wants to remain a Redskin he had better start working out as hard as ever starting soon.

He's kicked it out of bounds twice I can remember this season. That's just awful.

No, it wasn't just the kicker. I don't think anyone is blaming him solely for this loss.

That'd be crazy talk!

I'm not blaming him at ALL for this loss. My blasme lies with our old QB and playcalling. I won't get into that here though.

As for Hall, he does need to go. Every time he kicks, it looks as though he is about to fall on his face...not the Hall I remember. His injuries have either ruined his career, or he just doesn't show the desire to recover. Either way, he needs to go.

As far as the team...KUDOS!! GREAT SEASON AND I'M VERY, VERY PROUD.
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

Yes but that is not what he is paid to do?? Anybody who sees a loose ball can fall on it. But very few people in the world can kick a FG...THAT is what he is paid to do...and he hasn't lately.

By no means is this loss his fault, but he hurt our chances.

Hall may be a steaky kicker, but you've got to admit that was Awesome when he recovered the fumble!

As for his job next year, unless we bring in a solid veteran from FA, I can't see him losing his job to some no name.

congrats here as well on a great run by all this year.i just hated to see it end this way with all the chances they got and couldn,t put it in the end zone. the defense did all they could to help the offense but the offense continued to sputter again this week like the tampa game.
lookin back at it now we had a great chance to beat this team.so this offseason should be interesting to see who stays who restructures and who gets cut or released.this is a total team effort and the total team effort wasn,t there tonight.they put way too much pressure on our defense for two weeks in a row .
all in all i,m happy but at the sametime i,m disappointed but i like the direction we are going in now and thanks again to joe gibbs for putting the fight back into the team but putting the fight back into the fight song.

and like arnold says in terminator, the skins will be baaack.......

I think Hall is a good kicker, very consistent at 45 and under yards. But we need another kicker that can kick off, Hall gives up too many yards on his kickoffs, the opposing team has been starting at their own 40 on average. Anything past their own 20 is giving them yards and hurting us. We either need to do what we have done in the past and have a punter/kick off kicker in one or simply get a kicker with a stronger leg. I personally like Hall but I think his injuries have hurt him and in return hurt us.

We need a kicker like Arizona's Neil Rackers, that guy was 100% on fg's this year and puts it through the uprights on kickoffs, he amazing.

Two Words......

Nick Novack

I don't blame Hall for the loss...but did you see him before the kick? I noticed he took a long hesitation...not something he normally does. It just looked like he knew something wasn't right. Those who have the game recorded...take a look at it and see if you notice anything.

John Hall is a BUST!

Im with you Hogster, dudes leg has not been right for a long time. His kickoffs alone are enough justification to give him the boot. When your opponents starting field posistion is consistantly around the 35/40 yard line. thats not good. What is his cap and contract status for next year anyone know???

Great season and we obviously have some work to do to get to the next level. This applies to a number of positions and includes the kickers.

We got to where we were with John Hall - that should be enough! To single him out is kind of pointless now! We need a lot of things and the kickers will probably be on that short list.

Congratulations to all who were wearing our uniform this year for a great season. We were proud of all of you.

First of all there are like 3 kickers that consistantly kick the ball in the endzone for kick offs in the whole NFL. At quest field only 8 kick offs have been touch backs all season, so its incredibly difficult to kick to the end zone here. You guys lost the game because your defense couldn't stop the seahawks on short yardage 3 and ones. Our back up Maurice Morris kept getting the first downs and prolonging the drives. That is why you lost the game. Plus Andy Gibbs went for it on 4th and 13 on the 34 yard line with 2 mins to go thirs quarter. Granted it is tough for opposing teams to come in here and make field goals, but at that point in the game, your offense had not shown it could move the ball 14 yards either. Your defense got you to Seattle and he gave up on it. Sad really. DJACK 141 and a touch.
