Since I won't be back until after the game I'll do my usual "we need" and "now is the time for"...

1.) We need an INT right here by our defense - Shawn Springs INT for a TD

2.) Now is the time for a Sack/fumble by Daniels

3.) Run CP left right and middle

4.) This drive is where we get a CP TD

5.) We need a fumble recovery right here by ST

6.) We need a long strike to Moss right here

That is all for now. Good Luck guys, I'll be back later

thaiphoon, thanks for keeping the streak alive! We all are a little superstitious and why rock the boat.

Good luck Redskins - you have made us very proud - let's just win this game this week
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I actually think this game resembles more of the Dallas game. 35-17 Skins is my prediction. The last time Clinton didn't dress up, we won 35-7 in a must win.

This will be the same thing.

I just think if we bring our A game and they bring theirs, we win because of our Defense coupled with our Offense's ability to avoid mistakes (knocking on wood feverishly).

I Cant wait any longer for this game to start! The Key for us to win is defintely a strong start. Get a TD or FG and take the lead get the crowd to calm down!! I really think Brunell is going to step up today and with the Defense playing possessed were going to WIN!!!

Maybe I am crazy but I am not worried about today at all. I was much more worried about TB and even the last game of the season against the Seahawks. I just can't convince myself that Seattle is a winner.

- I don't think a Gibbs team has ever been such large underdogs in a playoff game.

- The only time a Gibbs team failed to play beyond its talents in a playoff, and the worst beating they ever took, was in SB 18 (don't mention "rocket screen")...when the Redskins were favored.

For reference:

Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!
Run or pass and score -- we want a lot more!
Beat 'em, Swamp 'em,
Touchdown! -- Let the points soar!
Fight on, fight on 'Til you have won
Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!

Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!

The original words-we-never-remember:

Run or pass and score -- we want a lot more!
Scalp 'em, swamp 'em -- We will take 'em big score

(or:

Read 'em, weep 'em, touchdown - we want heap more)

Fight on, Fight on -- 'Till you have won
Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!

I think so, and web-sites say so, but I have this conflicting memory from when I was about 10. It's a story by Shirley Povich complaining that George Preston Marshall had changed "Fight for old DC" to "Fight for old Dixie".

If you sing it, "DC" sings well, because the "D" stretches out and echoes in the "C". "Dixie" just doesn't fit as well.

Maybe my mind is intervening to clean up a child's memory?

Okay, I am doing a little something out of the ordinary today. I am not watching any TV or game coverage until around 4:15 PM. I am trying to keep busy doing other things, so I can turn on the TV and see the players on the field and get ready. Otherwise, i would be too excited and the anticipation would be killing me (except for coming on this site). We need this win to shut up all of the naysayers!!!! Go skins!!!!! 24-17 is my prediction.
