As usual, I'm with Welch. Oh, I lean on history where it suits my purposes, but since we're underdogs, banged up and at a disadvantage with both location and rest...it doesn't. :)
Everything that ever happened in any other game goes out the window. It's a new season every week.
You can bet JG has the team thinking that the Seahawks have the Buddy Ryan '85 Bear defense taking the field Saturday.

Not to be too synical but regardless of strength of schedule you have a team that had a 11 game winning streak, with out 2 of its top receivers. That is something to be concerned about. They have a decent defense and an awesome redzone defense and the only way we won this year was their kicker missed a 48 yard field goal. I personally think we should be a lot more respectful of a team at home which is 8-0 this year and has a tremendous home record over the last several years. Our offense has to score points and move the ball. Plain and simple 120 yards this week WILL not cut it.

First meeting against the Eagles: Win. 16-12.
Second meeting: Loss. 17-13 (had the division clinched already).
First meeting against The Giants: Loss. 24-7.
Second meeting: Win. 28-10.
First meeting against The Vikings: Win. 15-13 (whew).
Second meeting: Win. 24-7 (much better).

If I remember correctly, the Redskins did not clinch the division; rather they were 9-7 and barely made the playoffs.[/b]

The Redskins will win this game because the defense is playing at a totally higher level than they did the regular season and its amazing that its possible. We're definately starting to look more and more like the 2004 Skins defense than the 2005 version.

Obviously, a lot has been made about the Seahawks schedule.

How many rushing TDs does Alexander have? 27. Wow
How many against teams with winning records? 4. Not so wow.
That includes 2 in the game against Indy where they didn't have their head coach. Peyton played one quarter, 2 series, and Indy gained about 140 yds in those two drives.

Alexander will have a difficult time running on Sat. How difficult? Ask Cadillac Williams. 18 att - 49 yds

Alexander will get shutdown but we need to guard against the big run at the end like in games of the past.

Our healed up secondary got themselves together at the perfect time. SEA is going to have win this game via air and its good to have our troops healed up for the most part. If we can get a pass rush it'll be over for this team.

This game is no different than any other game this season aside from 2 or 3. If the offense comes to play we'll win. The defense will keep SEA in check.

What people forget is that Carlos Rogers didn't start the first time we played the Seahawks. Now he is playing

Redskins record when playing teams the second time around this season:

Dallas: 35-7
N.Y: 35-20
Phili: 31-20
T.B: 17-10

4-0

Not many people buying my gameplanning theory. Gibbs and Williams are two of the best at gameplanning and making adjustments. They were completely ready for Chris Simms and the Bucs the second time around. Our defense knew what they were running before they even ran it. I expect the same this week against Seattle.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

HERES THE DEAL: The Redskins beat Seatle. Period.

Reasons:

1) the washington secondary is healthier than it has been in the past five games. i cant recall the last time we had a healthy springs and rogers, as well as an amped up sean taylor.

2) regardless of the loss of renalod wynn, the defensive line is superbowl form. cornelius griffin and joe salava'e are the most underrated d tackle tandum in the league. sean alexendar and his beefed up o line (hint, alexander is good, but his o line is better) wont do doo doo.

3) whenever the washington offense has such a busted performance as they did last week at tampa, they USUALLY come back the next game and ESTABLISH. look for santana moss and chris cooley to make major statements.

4) Finally, Joe Gibbs has received ZERO credit for the job he has done with this washington team. JOE GIBBS WINS GAMES. all due respect to mike holgrem, but Gibbs is better...
