I logged in to Seattle sports radio over the internet kjram 950 am - http://www.kjram.com/main.html. They came on crying about how it is supposed to pour down rain on Saturday and saying stuff like "this is going to slow down our offense". They were saying if it doesn't rain, we are going to score 50 points and their sorry offense won't score at all. Then I went to a Seattle message board and they are saying stuff like "this game will be over by halftime". They really feel like they are going to run all over us in the game. I think Greg W. might have a little something to say about that. I think we are going to punch them in the mouth and see if they are willing to fight for what they want.

lol, I am sooooo glad that the Redskins are so underrated.

We're a better football team and we're the ONLY ones that know it...

I am so pissed that I'm going to miss this game, it's going to be a good one. I'll try to record it.

They know we're a good team but refuse to admit it. Theres no way we've gotten this far on luck. Luck doesn't get you a six game winning streak against Dallas, Giants, Bucs and soon to be Seahawks.

They play on Turf made of old tires. Even if it does rain it won't affect the field as much as if it were natural grass.

The wet conditions definetly still cause trouble even on a turf field. We need everything we can get when it comes to weather conditions. We can be physical at the point of attack and dominate the line of scrimmage.

Oh, I'm just pointing out all the spacific's. I read that Running Backs love this field b/c it allows them to cut better b/c its a rubber field.

They scored 13 points against Dallas and 24 against the Giants but they are going to score 50 against us?

That makes a lot sense.

If we had played their schedule 13-3 wouldnt have been out of the question and 10-6 seems about right for them if they had played our schedule.

So why is everyone acting like they are going to just blow us out of the building?

I agree but the weather is going to have a big effect on the passing game. It is never the running game that suffers in bad weather, quite the contrary. But it is much harder to throw and catch a wet ball than a dry one.

Also, I think the Seahawks are a very good team who did play an easy schedule. However, I think this really hurts them. We have played six playoff games in a row while they have hardly faced a worthy opponent. The 'Skins are battle tested while the Seahawks are not in the slightest. I think we can bring an intensity into this game that Seattle hasn't seen. For this reason, although I think it will be a close game and Seattle should be the favorite, if it is a blowout it will be in the 'Skins favor. I can definately see a situation like the Cowboys game where we just shock them at the beginning and take them completely out of the game.

This is a game where Im not worried about us matching their intensity. I'm sure we will surpass their intensity. We have their player quoted as looking past us, they've been sitting on their butts for a week, they haven't played any good teams and their defense cant negate our offense like the Bucs did.

Arn't we talking about a stadium with a retractable roof? I had already assumed they'd find a reason to close it just to up the crowd noise.

Hey guys, just a Seattle fan stopping by to say hi. I tried the ESPN message boards but it was just a bunch of trolls spewing garbage back and forth at each other. It's nice to find a place where people are somewhat objectively talking about the game.

I did have to take exception with the above quote saying that if it were a blowout it will be in Washington's favor. I do not see any way possible that this game is a blowout for the Redskins. If you could explain your rationale behind this it would be greatly appreciated.

I did have a couple things I hope you guys could answer. First, who is you 2nd receiver this week. I heard Thrash is injured and I saw Taylor Jacobs playing last week against Tampa. In your opinion, who poses the biggest threat? I tend to think that Cool

ey (behind Moss) could cause problems for us more than any of the guys currently in position for the 2nd WR.

Next, I wanted to see what you all thought of Shawn Springs. He was our 1st round pick a while back and had a decent run in Seattle but was plagued with injuries near the end of his stay. How has he been healthwise and what has his performance been like on the field? He used to be in a lot of commericals up here and was one of the figureheads for the team so it will be fun to see him come back.

It will be fun to watch the game in the trenches on both sides of the ball as this is where many of the games are won. I'm real interested to see how Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson deal with Cornelius Griffin and Philip Daniels (another ex-Hawk). I know injuries have taken their toll on your line but obviously not too much b/c Portis has had another real solid year. Hopefully he is full-go this weekend as I would like both teams to have everyone as healthy as possible.

I look forward to hearing your responses. Even more, I look forward to the game starting - I'm sick and tired of hearing people talk about respect, injuries, schedules, past playoff records, etc. Having played college football (actually played against Moss and Portis when they were at Miami) none of the stuff means jack to the players when they get out on the field.

The game could be a blowout for the Redskins because of one factor: turnovers. Seattle has not faced a defense like this all year. The Redskins' defense is right up there with Chicago's as the hardest-hitting defense in the league. It is not a "containment" defense like Tampa's, but one that is all about attacking and creating havoc. If Seattle comes out even a little bit flat or overlooks the Redskins in the slightest (a popular thing to do these days!), they could be down quickly. Just look at the second game against Dallas. We all know how talented Seattle is. But how physical and hard-working are you guys? This game will have an intensity unlike any game these players have been in all year. On the other hand, we've been in these do-or-die games for the past six weeks! Just watch the Sean Taylor highlight video someone put together on this board. Heck, you could have people injured in a hurry against this defense.

Meanwhile, the ball control, run-first offense can simply wear out opposing defenses, and keep the other team's offense--no matter how good it is--off the field. Our running game hasn't dominated anyone since Randy Thomas went down, which is a concern, but we are still very capable of moving the football.

It's boring and a cliche, but whoever wins the turnover battle will likely win this game.

I don't expect a blowout. More like the first game. Close, could go either way, but with higher intensity.

Our second WR? Probably Thrash, even with a broken finger. Jacobs has all the talent -- speed, cutting ability, route-running knowledge -- and he impresses the defense during practice, but he doesn't do it during games. And he's had his chances.

The Redskins offense took a big hit when Patten went on IR, because he drew attention from Moss. Odd thing, though, is that the team played harder and won their last five regular season games without a real second WR.

No, I don't understand how they do it, except that they won four playoff games, including SB 17, in 1983 with only one starting WR, and he was the second WR. Art Monk was out. Stats and predictions and such don't matter so much in the playoffs.

Springs has a bad groin injury, but may well play. He sat last week; he's a little better this week. We'll see.

Okay welch! That's why I think the teams with the bigger edge on D seem to do well during the playoffs - I think this is why we hear that old cliche "defense wins championships"!
IMO this is because there is a lot more pressure on the offensive side of the ball and the "better" D, especially if you can stop the run, will make almost any offense be sufficient.
