Is the rematch going to be the same??

Post by Rhew Churyll »

I see the game being exactly like it was last time we play each other.

Brunell is going to dump short passes to Cooley, Betts ect.. and also try to open up the running game with Portis.

Alot of teams have exploited our middle section of the Hawk defense, but you can't get too sloppy, because of our rookie star Tatupu. He's not the quickest, but he's probably the most savvy of all of our players.

We'll probably keep Moss occupied heavily by Boulware and Trufant, or either Dyson/Herndon and Manual. We managed to keep him from touching the ball a lot last time, and that seemed to work.

Our weakness is the short passes. With Dyson coming in healthy, he’s the key guy on our defense to be able to pick up Brunell’s signal. (See MNF game where Dyson picked off McMahon)

On the other side, the Hawks need to have Hasselbeck throwing early and often. Having Darrel Jackson back along with Bobby Engram, does wonders for our WR corps, our back ups have been gaining confidence all year by stepping up where it matters.

(If you didn’t know, Bobby Engram suffered a rib injury in the last match up with you guys. And he wasn’t able to play as well.)

Keeping Daniels and Salave’a off of Hass blind spot will be Probowlers Jones and Hutchinson. If the Skins are going to try to exploit the week link in our Offensive line, its going to have to be right up the middle on the right side where Veterans Tobeck and Gray. Last and not least we have 2nd year Locklear manning the Right side. He’s been very effective since he came in for the injured Pork Chop Womack.

Shaun Alexander isn’t afraid to use both sides of the line, when he runs now. He’s been very effective running left or right this year, instead of concentrating on our strongest asset on the Oline which is Jones and Hutchinson. Also, look for Probowler FB Mack Strong (12 years in the league and finally gets his first probowl nod) leading the way for Shaun.

What are your guy’s thoughts??

I think the last game means little at this point.

We are playing great defense right now. Shaun Alexander had 98 yds and 1 TD last time. You guys have the 13th ranked pass offense, so if Greg Williams can keep you one dimensional by shutting down the run, then the game can get away from yall...if you guys get upwards in the 120-130 range on the ground (highly unlikely) then it will be tough for us.

Don't expect us to put up 120 yards against you guys. We finished the season ranked 11th in total offense, and we played defenses like Chicago, Tampa, San Diego, Denver, Dallas, Philly.

We have big play ability to Moss, Cooley, and on the ground with Portis. We should be better on offense.

How good is Seattle's defense? I didn't watch many Seahawks games this season. But they didn't really impress me against the Giants.

The Last game we played against eachother might be irrelevant, but it will affect the game planning of both coaching staffs.

I'll be the first one to admit, our Team DID play a softer schedule, but we ALSO didn't play down to their level. We've managed to shine when it matters and stay together when the game was on the line. Hence both Giants and Cowboys.

I really think Hass will use Jeremy Stevens for mismatches agsinst your guy's LBers/Safeties. Same with what you guys got going on with Cooley. Once that happens, Hass can start throwing Darrell Jackson's way 15, 20 yards.

Uh..we don't have mismatches with LB's or safeties...we have Lavar Arrington, Marcus Washington, and Lemar Marshal...we also have Sean Taylor, there is on mismatch especially with Jeremy Stevens.

Check what we did to Tony Gonzalez, Jeremy Shockey, and Antonio Gates.

I doubt Jeremy Stevens will be a factor.

I wouldn't call beating the Giants the way that you all did keeping it together. Their kicker lost that game for them 3 different times, thats more on thier kicker than it was for you all putting the Giants away. In the same situation Hall will close the deal.

The Seahawks have a good team but I think their record is much more a product of a soft schedule than of an elite team though you have to play the schedule put in front of you and for that I say congratulations for making it this far.

My father-in-law is a Seahawks fan and for bragging reasons I follow them about as closely as I follow the skins. Its going to be a good matchup.

Their receivers had a good number of yards. They threw underneath practically the whole game, then took a few shots on double moves. Classic Holmgren. At the end of the day our defense bent but didn't break. Hopefully this game nothing will be open, not even the underneath stuff. I kinda see this one going to same way again. We outrushed them the first time and really did a good job on Shaun Alexander. He had 98 yards but 34 came on one run. Arrington was not playing at this time of the year either and I believe our defense is playing way better than earlier in the season. Its going to be a fun game to watch. I definately think Vegas set the early line a little high with Seattle favored by 9. The Skins have only lost one game by more than 7 points this year and we all know which one that was...those days are behind us.

I don't really put much stock in what Vegas says, I value the observation of people who actually watch their team in and out every week, that means us fans.

Now on the mismatch, I really didn't think out the comparasion with the matches against the leagues TE's you've managed to play against this year. I was wrong there.

I still think, in order for Hass to develop some type of rhythm, he'll go to Stevens early in the game.
