Why the Skins will have a chance to win this game.

Our defense has elevated their game not only since the 1st time we've played the hawks but continuously throughout our streak. When we played the hawks we didn't have a pass rush but we still held them to a decent amount of yardage. Within the past few weeks our pass rush has emerged out of nowhere. This defense can get some pressue with the front four and due to that our blitzes have become more effective. Yall Hawks fans can sit here and minimize Sats game because of Simms being young but look at Bledsoe. You dont get any more veteran than Bledsoe and he got demolished and imo he's a better QB than Matt and his better WR's.

Alexander is a decent back but we've already played the best back in the league in LT. We tied him down until the very end were our defense broke down. We haven't/wont break down like that again. Shaun is going to run into our greatest strength and you can sit here and expect him to run us over but you're going to be mistaken. We shut out Tiki Barber who's been red hot. We just shutdown the ROTY too.

Yall are going to need some inspired play from your WR's and I dont see them doing all that much against our healthy secondary. You guys played us at the wrong time. We shutdown Galloway all game.

And contrary to your beliefs you dont have the #1 defense, we just sent them home packing. Dont plan on shutting down the offense like they did. We may not score 30+ points but we didn't need 20 with the Bucs. If you plan to prove your W by stats then your mistaken buddy. This defense is better than what the stats say. I think the Bucs saw that Sat.

Cute, bring up a losing game to San Diego

Oh, your defense broke? And Lt had a rib injury too. Shauns healthy and so are the 6 starting probowlers on our offense. Give it up, you have Zero chance. Vegas has Seattle as 7to2 odds on winning the superbowl. Vegas doesn't make mistakes. Cry, cry, cry

Lets do a bit of match up
If we were to pick overall defense by Points allowed per game:
Seattle 7th NFL, 3rrd in the NFC
Washington 9th NFL, 5th NFC

How about rushing yards allowed
Seattle 5th NFL, 2nd NFC
Washington 13th NFL, 7th NFC

Rushing TD's allowed in season
Seattle 5 2nd NFL, 1st NFC
Washington 15 22nd NFL, 11 NFC

Interceptions
Seattle 16
Washington 16
tie

Defensive TD's
Seattle 3
Washington 2

Sacks per season
Seattle 50 1st NFL
Washington 35 20th NFL

The only advantage I could find for Washington over Seattle is their passing defense
Passing Yards allowed per game
Seattle 222.4 25th NFL
Washington 192.6 10th NFL.

That's all brilliant analysis except for one thing: The teams Seattle played have a collective losing record, and the teams that the Redskins have played have a solid winning record. It is easy to amass great statistics when playing against the league's worst teams.

more brilliant analysis

Post by DJACK is back »

You are right there, we did have the luxory of playing some bad teams, and right good stats can look better than they are, but the redskins had 3 losses to teams that didn't even make the playoffs. We had one and it was all back ups playing a meaningless game. So agreed, we did play some bad teams but at least we beat them. Enjoy

Look at where this team came from and look at where yours has been. Your team has been decent for years now and ours hasn't. This is our 1st decent years in YEARS and the fact that we're matched up against you guys speaks volumes for this team. The fact that we're going this with only ONE WR speaks volumes! Gibbs in his 2nd year back has taken a Steve Spurrier team, tweaked it and is deep in the playoffs. You guys have been good for a while and want a ring and so do we but we're happy that we're on the up and up. We have so much potential in the next few years and we're content with that. This playoff race is icing on the cake for us. So even if we were to lose you couldn't come back here and rain on our parade because our future doesn't end with this season. Its only begging. The FACT that we've come this far with all the blatant personel holes on this team should have the NFC's attention.

Chalk that up to karma. Two of those losses were to teams that were coached by guys who didn't get treated too well while they were head coaches here. Humbling as those losses were, and as much as they rightfully put us in our place, they did not keep us out of the playoffs!

Again folks, I implore you to not try and match wits with these obviously astute football fans.

Why even play the game... the oddsmakers already made their picks.

Oh incidentally... the oddsmakers had the Bucs to win last week two. Fortunately the Skins thought, 'Ah shucks... let's play the game anyway' and go figure... the oddsmakers ended up being on the wrong side of the ledger.

And just for a little further background... I used to be part of a little 'gambling ring'... thinking a bookie gets everything 'right' is pretty uninformed. A good bookie takes EQUAL BETS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL... and then just collects the vig from everybody. The spread changes so as to make people bet on whatever side of the bet that he needs to take bets on.

Superbowl odds are no different. Bookies want to take in even money on everyone and just collect their 5%. So when not enough people are betting on Seattle... you 'up' their odds to entice more people to bet on them.

As for 'telling our mumbo jumbo to the easter bunny', after reading all of yesterday's posts, I think I'm going to just tell my mumbo jumbo to a well-informed Seahawk fan.

I figure my odds on finding one are about the same as finding the easter bunny.

My 2 cents

Skins have went as far as they can on this trip, you've played well. Time to pass the baton to the NFC champs.

Here's to a good game you're unfortunately going to lose.

November 3rd 2002, Skins 14 Seahawks 3, Were 1-0 at the mighty Q. Really didn't seem to have much trouble with the noise that day. You fans should have been pretty exited in the stadiums first year too, guess not.

Folks, I give you the Seahawks Cake Schedule

Sep 11 @Jacksonville Lost 14-26
Jacksonville is a good team that made the playoffs and you lost

Sep 18 Atlanta Won 21-18
Beat a team that wasnt very good and didnt make the playoffs

Sep 25 Arizona Won 37-12
Killed one of the worst teams in the NFL

Oct 2 @Washington Lost 17-20
Lost to us (a playoff team) at our place, close game.

Oct 9 @St. Louis Won 37-31
Beat another team that wasnt very good.

Oct 16 Houston Won 42-10
Beat THE WORST team in the NFL

Oct 23 Dallas Won 13-10
Beat another team the was decent, but didnt make the playoffs

Week 8 BYE
Nov 6 @Arizona Won 33-19
You guys got to play Arizona TWICE? Lucky you guys.

Nov 13 St. Louis Won 31-16
See above comment.

Nov 20 @San Francisco Won 27-25
So after Arizon and St. Louis, you get...wait...SAN FRAN. If that isnt the easiest 3 game schedule, I dont know what is.

Nov 27 N.Y. Giants Won 24-21
Congrats, you finally beat a good playoff team (at home)

Dec 5 @Philadelphia Won 42-0
This team was at its worst right here with Mcnabb out, and everyone else

Dec 11 San Francisco Won 41-3
Oh look who it is, you get to play one of the WORST teams AGAIN.

Dec 18 @Tennessee Won 28-24
hahah, another horrible team, another easy win.

Dec 24 Indianapolis Won 28-13
Ind didnt care about this game, and didnt play everyone, but you took care of business here.

Jan 1 @Green Bay Lost 17-23
Lost to a bad team, did you guys sit everyone this game? I didnt get to see it, so I dont know.

Jan 14 Washington 4:30pm
THE TRUTH!

...so after looking at that, 8 of your wins came from the worst teams in the NFL. Arizona x2, St. Louis x2, San Fran x2, Houston x1 ,and Tenn x1.

Now, I know anything can happen, but you guys seem a little to confident for a team that had such an easy schedule. Good luck this weekend!

Only beat NY because Jay Feely missed not 1, not 2, but 3 game winning field goals, Hawks got lucky.

And the Dallas W was a result of arguably the dumbest single-play QB'ing decision of the NFL season.

Fanatic12 wrote:Since we've gotten much better since the last meeting, don't think for a second that you can bring that weak offense to our house.

If you don't have at least 300 yards offense you don't even have a chance.

There won't be Simms in the pocket, you'll get a full dose of a probowl QB and an MVP running back. Throw in the 6 to 10 possible playmakers who'll be catching the ball and you have a DEADLY combination.

I hope it's a good game and not too one sided.

Have a great offseason.

Both teams have gotten better, but we have gotten better against tougher competition. You all have 13 wins and only 2 of them have come against teams with winning records (3 if you count Indi benching everyone) Both of the 2 games, (Giants, Dallas) you needed miracles. See feely and bledsoe. It will be a good game but the Skins will prevail.

What makes you Seattle fans so confident? We beat you in the regular season, our schedule was about 10 times harder than yours, and but for two blown calls (at Denver and at Tampa) we would have finished 12-4. Joe Gibbs has won as many Super-Bowls as the entire Seahawks franchise has ever won playoff games. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the Seahawks have never beaten the Redskins on any field. Just make sure you keep your promise to show up Sunday, so we can hear how you really should have won the game.

I'm sure they will. They were blue-on-blue for 7 of the 8 home games, with blue-on-white in the other.

Other than Jacksonville, Seahawks played the easiest schedule ever. I don't see how everyone can be so confident in them. We have Gibbs who is money in the playoffs, we have a Defense that is playing extremely well, we are on a 6 game winning streak and just found a way to beat a team that is better than anyone the seahawks played. I don't think we are going up there to blow them out but I don't see any reason to think we won't win this game.
