Cowgirls interested in Henson..hahaha

Post by oafusp »

On espn.com

Too funny, if they do this all 3 of their QB's will be ex-baseball players.

I hope they do sign Henson and he turns out to be as good as Hutchinson.

Yeah,

On their fan2fan website, they think he is going to be Roger Staubach or someone. I laugh at them because as long as Quincy Cant PassAlick is the QB, they wont be able to win the big game. There schedule wont be so forgiving! :P

I think it's too early to say he's the real deal yet, although i think he's rather intriguing and i'd hate to see him go to dallas... :(

I could rattle off 50 names that did make it....so it really depends on the character of the kid...Henson has it.

No offense... but how do you know?

If all it came down to was character, then Danny Wuerffel would be a guaranteed league MVP... the guy's as solid as the day is long AND he won a Heisman.

Takes more than character to be an effective NFL QB in my opinion. I'm not saying whether Henson can or can't, but I certainly won't KNOW until the guy's stepped on to a playing field at least once.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Character will be the factor whcih causes him to be a bust...Henson has character.

Im a Yankee fan and i watched him play those few games at UM....so i would say he has the what it will take to atleast be a NFL QB..not wash out asap like leaf..thats all...Im not saying he's the nexy Aikman.....HE has one heck of an arm and even though his NFL workout was more like a fixed talent show...he showed he can still throw the football...

Thats all im saying.

I would not say Henson has it YET. I know he is a good 3rd baseman and is very mobile. BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT AS GOOD AS A-ROD.

He will have an advatage to learn behind Sean Payton.

Smizzy, I'm a Yankees fan, too. I MET Drew Henson. "Character" ? I asked him if he was more Brosius than Ventura. He said, "Neither. You haven't seen anybody like me yet."
He was right, at least on the Major League level. I watched take three straight fungoes between the legs.

Just kidding. :P

His time away from football could have screwed him up, as it did Hutchinson. It takes more than arm strength to make it in the NFL. We learned that from Heath Shuler. If his timing is way off, he might take a long time to recover. Parcells won't wait for him.
oops....sorry!

My daughter is a devoted Yankee fan. She can't stand Henson as a third baseman. Myself, well, I remain a die-hard Washington Senators fan, but I'm friendly to the Yankees for her sake. We still grumble that the Boss should have made Brosius want to stay.

(By the way, Torre's class-1 Yankees, '96-2001, remind me of a Gibbs-style team. No gonzo stars, no homerun champs, no egomaniacs...just guys who came through under pressure, and did so without making a big fuss. No tantrums of "I'm Bernie Williams...I want more publicity!")

I can think of at least a pair of baseball-playing QB's who managed to start in the NFL.

Our own Jay Schroeder played a year at UCLA (? one of the two LA schools) and then dropped out to catch in the minors. Good arm, big, tall, and couldn't hit curveballs or sliders.

Schroeder had two good seasons with the Redskins, although I think the pressure and his ego caused him to implode. Remember the disastrous "wind-bowl" NFC playoff at Giants Stadium? Schroader said before the game that the wind would not bother him: "I'll just keep the nose of the ball down and throw hard", or wordss to that effect.

Oh, and Schroader was traded for the superb Jim Lachey, so he was pretty good for a 3rd rounder.

**

Then, don't forget that old George Steinbrenner signed a colege outfielder named John Elway, who played a part-season or two in the minors for the Yankees before graduating and signing for Denver. The Boss seriously wanted to sign him to baseball.

as it stands, the cowboys have a chance at henson and/or garcia...good thing we gave up that pick and all that money for brunell.

one can only pray that gibbs' ability will overcome our owners lack of a (football) brain.

What are you talking about...Henson hasn't played a down in an NFL game...and we have Ramsey so why would we need him. And Brunell has done more in his career then Garcia has..Brunell is just as good as Garcia if not better.

Just because Snyder has made some bad decisions doesn't mean he's has no football knowledge....He's learning, and every owner who doesn't win the super bowl could have done something better...at least he's dedicated to winning...thats more then I can say for half the owners out there.

Right BTP...and "we" had a plan and I'm glad we've stuck with it. No waiting around hoping for something to fall in our laps. Get the core players on the list and then fine-tune in June (sayeth the poet)...

garcia's in better shape than brunell and he wouldn't cost a draft pick. the reason why other owners wait a bit during FA is so the market settles down and true value can be established. Not us, we pounce on in and sign everybody for more than they are worth, hurting both our ability to deal in the future and our ability to fill other needs with quality players...NOT the Phillip Daniels of the world.

There is nothing shrewd about our FO moves. Needing a qb and having henson and garcia available for a cheaper price than Brunell is (know that it hurts to say this), well, shrewd.

Cheaper? This is the QB position!!! Henson hasn't played and Garcia has a bad back. Be decisive - he who hesitates is lost. Be pro-active not reactive.
