i feel like dan synder is getting better everyday but in time we will know.to me he,s made some mistakes with players, coaches, etc, etc but with danny hiring joe gibbs back and letting him deal with football matters while taking a backseat approach has helped.to me the jury is still out on the danny but he is making progress.i do like his willingness to spend but do it wisely.heck we all want to win and besides thats al this franchise is used too and joe gibbs fully understands that as well.

(1) rehiring joe gibbs

(2) signing gregg williams to an extention.

it,s a start and i,m taking it day to day as well.helping joe keep his staff intact is ceratinly a start.

Talk about changes in wind direction!

Yes, you would be welcome too. We need a bit of your ingenious sense of humour to handle a few rogue, big-mouthed posters in those threads. I do not need help. I am just saying that it would certainly be fun to witness some old fashion grilling.

On the point of this thread:

I was not. I am not. And I probably will not be a fan of the "Danny". As I never was or could have been a fan of Preston Marshall. I always had mixed feelings about J. Kent Cooke (love/hate).

Interestingly, I feel that ownership has a wider responsibility towards the fans in addition to recruiting great coaches and players.

It is true that the "Danny" has learned not to become a "walking wallet disaster". It is true that he has accepted a lower visibility profile in the operations of the team. It is true that he appears to follow Joe's directions. All of that is true. But that is not a reason to award him a Noble Peace Prize. It is common sense!

I do not like the disastrous public relations policies of the "Danny" towards the fans at times. I do not like the disastrous policy of the Redskins organization towards the media.

I probably would change my mind about the "Danny" if he looked at some of us with more empathy and recognition for the effort that we make to support HIS team in terms of legal and economic ownership, and OUR team in terms of historical commitment and loyalty over many more years than those that he has owned the team.

Joe Gibbs advised the "Danny" to retain G. Williams. And the "Danny" saw the wisdom of the advice and acted on it. Kudos to him for being a smart businessman. Hopefully he can grow into a great owner too.

I can be persuaded to accept that a person has changed and, in turn, change my mind about him/her. I am watching you Danny. :-"
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

The lesser of both the better.

TC - not sure what your continued problem with me is but let me let you in on something -> my opinions don't have to mirror yours on every issue regarding the Redskins. I love the Redskins and have loved them since the early 70's when I started watching football as a youngster with my dad. Does this team (including coach and owner) do everything right ? Of course not. I call them like I see them. I am of the mind that one does not have to love every move their team makes to be a fan. I give props to Dan for working his way through his Sign-Jeff George & Deion Sanders-lets send our team into cap hell-fire all the staff and raise prices on everything-phase of team ownership. I am impressed with his management since Gibbs has been here but that has only been less than 2 years out of how many? This is why I'm not 100% completely sold. I always take a fresh look at my opinions when the evidence changes and with Dan it is changing. I'm warming up to him daily. I'm glad (like everyone else here) he has the willingness to spend money unlike Bidwell in Arizona. I'm just hoping that this recent trend is the way he'll be for the rest of his tenure as the owner.

I can honestly say that there's been no problem. Go back...cut and paste where you saw me contradict you in any way, and you'll get your Mea Culpa.
Thaiphoon=Stiff Wind. Get it ?
That was my funny. This sounds like a GameDay thing where I laughed when Mark made a funny.
I also said you did nothing wrong. Get over yourself, son. I got no problems with you.

This move goes to show what an influence Gibbs has not just with the players but the whole team from the owner on down

Ok ... must've misunderstood you a second time. No worries. As long as we're straight. Thanks for explaining the "funny" as I wasn't looking at it from that angle.
