The Redskins are in deep, deep trouble if Dan Snyder is acting as the "Cap expert."
no, that would be eric schaffer. thats what he was hired to do. snyder is just writing the checks.

You guys actually think that this would be a good signing even with Kearse being injury proned? You know he wont come cheap. I think he would be asking a bit to much for someone with his injury IMO.

hopefully, they'll be smart enough to get some performance incentives in the contract, rather than all salary cash.

Many here bash Bailey for leaving in the name of greed. I think this just proves Bailey point as to the way he was treated, yes he was offered a contract at the last moment but by that time it was too late. Had the Redskins moved to get him signed a few years back instead of throwing money at over rated high priced FA he may have signed for less and a cap friendly deal. Don't beat me up over this...I could be totally wrong the point I'm making is look at how a player who's never played 1 play for us is being treated vs. a player who was a All-Pro player for us?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we offer Bailey a multi-million deal at preseason last year? Just for him to turn it down? I think $55 mill is a pretty good deal.

Thomas is a good player, maybe even real good, but worth the biggest contract for an interior lineman? No. Fiore...enough said. Even Portis, a guy making $350k and we don't even bother to bargain him down but instead go right out and sign him to the biggest rb contract in nfl history yet there was absolutely no need to do this (though a new contract would eventually be neccessary). The list goes on, Carrier, Deion, Bruce, etc. Even L. Coles received a signing bonus HIGHER than what he first asked for.

Snyder is an irresponsible fantasy football owner and ONLY Joe Gibbs can save us from our own management.

Let us not forget that our biggest need last year was DL too (also perhaps the most important position on the field), yet we screwed that up, big time. Snyder needs to learn, and (hopefully, i pray) he will, but for now I hope Gibbs is the panacea we've been searching for.

.i guess i will credit mr. synder for bringing back joe gibbs out of retirement.give me the players all joe wants to do is coach them the way they should be coached.

Yes that's true, that offer was not even top 5 money. That's not really my point. The Skins made that offer during Champs contract year, which if that the way they do business...fine. But they turn around and give Portis a huge contrat and he's a year away from his contract year. I don't mind that, I think the Skins are smart to do so, just saying look at it from Champ's view. BTW isn't Portis SB larger then what we offered Champ??

Kearse really scares me man...I think he is very injury prone right about now...I don't know man, But if he can stay healthy, he could be very "FREAKISH"..haah

gibbs is a pro coach who has coached in the pros and won 3 superbowls so he does know how to elvaluate players i think.kearse is great, but i would have rather had winstrom too.
