Lavar will be on his weekly spot on 980 today. I wonder if he will address the article leaked last week. This should be interesting. Certainly stay tuned.

I think that by extending William's contract LaVar will restructure and stay. He's wanted to have a coach stay and now we have one.

This is more of a sign that Lavar is gone after this season. They are not going to give him is $6 million roster bonus and he won't give it up just to remain on the team.

My brother talked to him at a bar in Ashburn last week but didn't have the nerve to ask him about the article. Also he picked up the tab at Buffalo Wing Factory for the Stone Bridge HS football team before they went to play in the state finals. Said he was a big fan of theres and he loved watching them play.

Super nice guy. Hope he stays with us.

- A "no-brainer" that he would stay in DC.

- He did not ask for the article
- Reporter dug for questions, he just answered them as best he could.
- Season in review questions were
- Would never want to do anything to hurt the team, a fact which gets lost in what people write.
- Very upset about the article; he did not want attention put on him.
- Unfairly blamed for the article. He's neither the editor nor the author of the article.
- Talked with Gibbs and Williams re: this, and they have an understanding between them re: his position on the team.

ON HEALTH:
- Though Stats don't reflect it, his health is finally getting up to par, and his contributions are increasing.
- Teams are no longer able to exploit his weakness (health), which makes opposing teams have to change their gameplans.
- Acknowledged that he missed two sacks. He was shocked that he got to the QB so fast; once he reconciles in his mind thta he's "getting there" the sacks can pile up.

ON TEAMMATES:
- Shawn Springs is a playmaker
- Respects Lemar Marshall for how he's developed into a middle linebacker in a short period of time.

ON PLAYING FOR THE SKINS IN THE PLAYOFFS:
- Means the world to him.
- Never stopped loving being a Redskin.
- Nothing greater, other than child's birth, than to bring a Lombardi Trophy to Washington DC.

I heard Derrick Dockery on Sirius at lunchtime today, and as far as the stuff not related to that article, what Lavar said is very close to the thoughts expressed by Derrick.

Good synopsis Redeemed...he also said the theme over the last 5 games was "we're coming out to kick tail and phsically abuse" the other team. They would continue that theme against Tampa Bay, as they "didn't close the deal in the 1st game" and would be more physical with Alstott.

Good info. I think that Lavar is here to stay unless management wants to just get rid of him period. I think that at this point in his career, he knows that he won't get another big deal elsewhere because to the surgeries on his knee and how long it took for him to come back.

He will restructure to stay and will finish his career here. He has the potential to make money off the field with endorsements, radio, and t.v. so he will probably look to make his money that way to go along with his salary. Gone are the days in the NFL where defensive players will command RB/QB type money. I hope that Lavar has been smart with his 'dough' and secured his family's future. He got paid when the gettin' was good and now that time is over in DC. There is stability here now and hopefully that will translate into championships....

During the interview, Lavar's tone was definitely different than in weeks past, particularly when discussing Williams, and this was a good thing.

He sounded pleasantly suprised that Williams "kept his word" about sticking around. Now, I'm not sayin' that Lavar is definitely stayin', but, I must think, from what a lot of people on this site say about him, that his "good guy" personality has to look at this with a huge measure of respect, and it should make him think about restructuring (again) to stay with the team.

As much as I've disparaged him in the past, he did sound like a real "team guy" on the radio today, and I wouldn't be surpised to see this other "loose end" of the Redskins handled before the offseason, much like the Williams deal was handled.

Lavar also talked a lot about how much he has learned about playing football from these coaches, and how they have helped his game a great deal. He says teams are seeing him getting his speed back and trying to take advantage of him by getting him to chase plays down and get out of position, but that it isn't working because of the coaching he's getting.

Reminds me of a kid whose father left and his mom keeps having "friends" that dont stay. He's probally glad to finally have some stability in his career. Now he probally feels like he can learn something in and out and be able to excel in it for a length of time. I dont blame him for that one bit.

Surprise! I know you all know this, but I really think too much recently has been distorted not reported. I think that Gibbs & Williams and Arrington are "on the same page" much to the chagrin of a lot of the media.

I remember from training camp that the guys here (who were there!) were "reporting" their feelings, observations and in some cases conversations from camp. These were in some cases very different from what was reported by the Times and the Post. I have stopped reading their biased BS and am content to get updated from the posts here - I do not go to other sites because this format is comforable for me. I must say I also appreciate the input (from various sources here) that comes from more places than I could find - this is fun!

I'm a homer, what can I say!

I hope we see more of Arrington in the next few weeks because that is a sign that he is a part of this team - he's a good player but he will be better as he gets more involved. The only way that happens is if he's big enough to accept their leadership and instruction.

Dale and Lavar have issues...but I hear people saying things like that every day when the foreman (me) rides 'em a little.
They still go out and do the job...sometimes better than usual.

The big question is whether Gregg Williams thinks Lavar is worth the $6 million roster bonus.
Or if he finds a player that he likes in the free agent market who he'd rather spend that money on.

It's not as simple as GW thinking he's worth it or not.

It is pretty complicated. And if here were not due that 6 million roster bonus I would think his odds of being here would be higher. If he gives up that bonus maybe he stays.

But it is a pretty complicated issue.
