It's our secret code name for you... I can't say any more than that it has 4 letters.

No way Gibbs takes a lesser role, if he's on the sideline next year it will be as our HEAD COACH as it should be, however if we win it all this year Joe might step down (I don't even want to think about that, losing Gibbs aaah then GW becomes Ritchie Pettibone re-incarnate! What more could Gibbs do for GW he made the guy officially the Assistant Head Coach! Gregg Williams is our most important free agent this offseason and great teams don't let those guy's go. Having said all that JGibbs is the quintessential(sp?) Head Coach and as long as he's running the show we're gonna be fine!

Thanks for setting me straight; I'm always striving to learn, especially from you old-timers. Sorry my ignorance was so "obvious" - please don't hold it against me, Jocko.

First off Gibbs is going nowhere!! Notice how Parcells has had to deal with this question down in Dallas even though he’s never brought up the subject..and Gibbs doesn’t??

No the wildcard with GW is he a KC guy born and raised there, made his name in coaching there. Word in KC is that they feel the same deal was made to Al Saunder as many here feel was made to GW. That if they stay the will succeed the current head coach….will see?

On a side note and for what worth I had the opportunity to talk with GW at end of last year and I ask him point blank was he coming back and without hesitation he said yes this is the best job and I work for the best coach in football. Again I had the opportunity to hear his speak at mini-camp in June…I don’t put as much stock in this time because it was in front of the media.
He reiterated his passion for Gibbs and the Redskins.

Lastly let’s not forget the Snyder factor…does he like DS…We all know what a great owner Lamar Hunt is…and what a great place to play and coach in the NFL KC is a offer from them may be to good to turn down.

My thoughts are, Gibbs although arriving at the play-offs just 2 years into his second term has made great strides with this team but he isn't done yet. Think about where all of our minds have been for the last 5 years at this time. The exciting thing is he is not done yet! If GW decides to go, it will suck, but as we know Gibbs is a HOF coach and one of the best at assembling a staff. I would hate to see GW go but if so I feel good about Gibbs finding another DC to succeed him, whether it would be from his staff or outside.

No! My bad. I was just "responding" to the suggestion and grabbed your quote!
I know you know better and should not have implied that. I am just so pleased that we are in the playoffs and find it interesting that some here just do not pay attention to the input we have received on a lot of different topics. The coaching question about both Gibbs and Williams I think has been addressed by the STAFF and people here who have indicated that in their best estimation how things will be. Now this is "our" best guess I know but for the most part I have found these guys (at THN) are a lot more savvy about rumor central than the guys who perpetuate it in the first place.
Like I said I was just reacting.

Pete Wysocki embodied a Redskins LB.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

IF we could and did win the superbowl, i think it would be great to have JG step down and just stay on in the front office. I mean, he would have transformed a sad sack organization into a superbowl winner in 2 years!!! he would go out on top AGAIN, and be solidified as the greatest coach in the history of the game of football. Plus... Then williams would get his Head coaching oppertunity and not go to another team. I would love to see gibbs stay on even if they did win the SB, but for him to go out like that again a second time would be to much.

I think Gibbs will have restored the team to a winning tradition, and proved the doubters wrong. However, his job would not be done. I'm sure that he'd want to defend the crown, and show consistency with his winning ways. Plus, he said he would honor his five-year deal.
Back and better than ever!

Gibbs is hear to win a superbowl. Look how far we've come without key components. We dont even have a freaking #2 WR!!!! He's going to win a SB before he leaves, my bet is 2.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!
