He did a good job.

Man, we are very short at CB. Hopefully Rogers will be back and Springs groin will improve.

But yes, good job C Mort:up:

Considering the circumstances he did well. He still has a lot of work to do. He'll be a keeper after we when the super bowl.

I think we have enough now, we simply dont have health at the position.

Springs
Harris
Rogers
Christian
Jimoh

Thats a pretty darn good lineup. If we get a pass rush next year you'll see just how good these guys are. My goodness. Im excited. Jimoh has stepped up for us when we've needed him.

It is a very good lineup on paper....BUT in reality Springs has been a health risk his entire career and that has continued here. As talented as he is I have never seen a player that finishes less games than he does because of injury. Rogers also hasn#t shown himself to be an iron man, first the ankle injury and now the bicep. Considering the health questions that surround our top guys at the position I think that we need to bring in some more serviceable backups for next season.

I totally disagree with your assesment. I think in contrast to his career in SEA #24 has been the picture of health for us. Clearly we're playing football, this isn't cricket. Who do you suggest we bring in that can guarantee you that they wont get hurt before the season starts?

DB is not a position that needs to be addressed with any significance. The DE position will increase our current crops performance, they've excelled with out a key part of a defense. Im darn proud of them.

Springs - has been probowl snub since he's been here
Rogers - more than filled Captain Smoots shoes
Walt - not the best but solid and will improve with a rush
Jimoh - has improved
Christian - straight off the bench, played in the most important game of the year and didn't get beat!

What more do you want?

I do think that we need ot improve our depth at that position. If for no other reason than Harris and Springs are getting old. It seems like at least one or two games a year that we have to use safeties as CB's. I'm not upset with the job that Williams has done, and I won't second guess him, but I'm always nervous about our CB depth.

I do agree that age is a factor but they haven't shown their age to me YET. I think we should get a guy later in the draft but its definately not a high pick issue right now.

Morton wasn't spectacular but held his own better than I would have thought.

He has faced pressure in that stadium before. (See 2005 NFC Championship Game)

I hope to see some more of our CB's step up like Dwight Ellick if he is elevated to the active roster.

Well if worst comes to worst, I'd like to see what Ryan Clark or Pierson Priolououou can do at CB.

I mean yeah Jimoh had that nice ST hit, but he still can't cover for a lick.

He actually defended a pass rather nicely during the game. The fact that we have nothing to post about in regards to him speaks volumes of his improvement.

he defended a pass and got hurt doing it lol...he has shown flashes of being pretty good, especially on ST. i think if we tried hard enough, we could make a highlight reel of his hits this year, he's definitely made some good ones. say what you will about ade jimoh, but he's a good player for us right now, and that's all that matters
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

I remember people always asking why Jimoh keeps making the team. First its Special Teams and he is improving at DB

There's no doubt that Jimoh is improving....I almost don't get scared when he has to play on Defense....

It seems to me that this is an area where the coaches has looked at our situation and said, "We will deal with this weakness using smoke and mirrors." I mean you can't be set at all the positions all the time. The problem is that most of our pass ruch is also smoke and mirrors. When you have a mediocre pass rush and a decimated secondary...How long can we play like that?

I agree that Pass Rush needs to be a higher priority though!

Not to mention Dmitri Patterson who stepped up the week before and pulled down a nice INT to keep the Giants out of the end zone.

I thought he did pretty well - I usually hold my breath when he's on the field, but he held his own... he didn't get hurt on that play, he developed an irregular heart beat and had to be treated with medication....

It's a pretty good lineup of db's if you take Harris out of there. Nine times out of ten when the opposing team completes a deep one you will see old Walt at least ten yards from the receiver. I'm sorry guys but Harris sucks.
