Giants to sit players

Post by EA7649 »

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Tight end Jeremy Shockey and linebacker Reggie Torbor will sit out the New York Giants' game at Oakland on Saturday because of injury.

Shockey

Torbor

Both players were hurt last week in a 35-20 loss to Washington. Shockey injured his ankle, and Torbor aggravated a hamstring injury. Neither practiced this week, and both had been listed as questionable as recently as Thursday.

Torbor's injury, as well as injuries to linebackers Antonio Pierce (high ankle sprain) and Carlos Emmons (strained right pectoral muscle), means that New York will be without its three starting linebackers who began the season.

New York can clinch its first NFC East title since 2000 with a win Saturday.

This is great for the raiders and us the redskins b/c shockey is a big part in offense and another LB is out!

thanks for the info and i say this with all due respect... i'll trade a giants win for a skins win... i dont care about anyone else but the skins winning... all this crap coming out in the post and the times isnt helping the situation at all.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

Unfortunately, ea, you can't take care of your business first. The giants play oakland on Saturday night. You will know what you are playing for long before the 4:15 start on Sunday.

As much as I'd like to see it, there is no chance in hell Oakland wins this game. The Raiders don't care who wins the NFC East, the team is plagued by infighting and Turner, as he is wont to do, has totally lost the team.

This is great news for my fantasy team. I am VERY desperate for a running back and with the Giants resting their linebackers....Crocket should do alright. Well, I feel better about him scoring a touchdown anyway. Hopefully, he can get me two. I really need twenty points from him.

I could not care less - I will be watching but this means nothing.
At this stage of the season and early next week, all that matters is who is playing better and right now the only 2 teams in the NFC that "concern" me will have a bye the first week anyway. Because of how we are playing right now we are going to be favored to beat whoever is on the "fight list" for next week - gotta love it!

The last 2 games were a reality check for us and the NFC! I think this is just so special and am enjoying the ride.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I hope the Raiders finally remeber that they have that guy named Randy Moss and actually throw it to him this game so he can just torch their secondary.

I know our win means more, but if the Giants lose, then that would be the perfect icing on the cake:up:
